what is the size (diameter) of the internal dippy bit?

Not very big at all . side to side in the dippy bit 9cms. I was bit dissapionted but they are ok for the price.

Can I use these in conventional oven. To bake small pies for my elderly mum

I don’t think you can, I certainly wouldn’t . There are plenty of small pie dishes on Amazon that would be suitable.

I’d say porcelain which is a type of ceramic. They feel fairly “fine” despite the cheap price, pity they are so small.
