versatility value
Was time to buy new inflator and so glad stumbled onto this one! First stumbled onto the DeWalt one which I like and already have bunch of their tools/batts. But theirs is almost twice as much ($110) with no battery and from what I read also doesn't include the A/C plug which costs another $30-40! This B&D doesn't come with battery either but has everything else and since I also have B&D tools/batts figured give it a go. First I love having 3 power sources, esp the batt as that makes it portable, was so convenient to move from tire to tire. I did 4 tires on 3 cars in no time and didn't even use up a batt. Second I love having the auto-shutoff. My prior unit was basic and had gauge with needle that bounced all over the place! Constantly had to remove nozzle, test with separate gauge, then repeat. This digital display is easy to read and accurate. It stopped when supposed to and when checked with my separate gauge each time was dead on! Price-wise was more than initially wanted to spend but think it's worth it for that alone tho will probably also find the portability and large volume nozzle handy for things like inflating/deflating rafts. But note I already had the batteries to use, if you don't that changes the equation some. (not to be a B&D pitchman but their batts aren't that much or you could even get a basic drill with batt & charger for like $50) My only real complaint I guess is the cord retainer for the 12V cable which is on the bottom. It's rather tedious and not exactly intuitive to wrap the cord up in it and mine came out of the box with the cord simply bundled with a twisty-tie. That makes me suspicious to whether I got a used/refurb unit. But otherwise looks and works fine and prob won't use the 12V cord anyway as the battery is more convenient.

Splendid performer, Short cords but good for B&D MAX battery owners
I needed a good tire inflator after owning several old junk brand ones that kicked the bucket within a year, and since I recently purchased the 20V Max series lithium ion battery system, choosing this Black + Decker Multi-Purpose Inflator was a no-brainer. It has 3 modes of power: DC 20V Max Lithium Ion battery (not included), 12V “car cigarette-lighter” port, and of course AC cord plug. The cords are rather short, so using the battery would be the preferred power source, but at least they are there in event where you don’t have a charged battery available (or if you are stranded with a flat tire/ flat spare). Then there is that fact that an extension cord would do the trick. These cords are both not removable, in fact you coil them up neatly into the provided organized place. But the battery is obviously the best to use with this model anyway. You need to push the battery in place firmly to use (as seen in my video). There are 2 switches and 3 buttons on the main unit that are either self-explanatory or self-intuitive. I found after turning the motors on that they are relatively quiet compared to my previous inflators, and the unit does not seem to get as hot either. It might be because of the very efficient side and bottom vents, or maybe just the thick ABS plastic shell, but I filled all 4 tires on my 2012 Toyota Prius just now in one go with my the 20V Lithium Ion battery (like literally just now) and it is only warm to the touch. The “I” on the switch (as opposed to “0” or “II”) is for the tire pressure inflator. The auto-off setting is set to go a couple of PSI above the limiter in order to get a more accurate pressure I guess. When the motor turns off, it reads on (or close to) the targeted pressurization. The high volume output function, known as “II” on the switch, blows air through the tube elbow on the right. The accordion tube arm can be pulled off and haphazardly friction-fit back into place like a vacuum cleaner hose when not in use. Also like a vacuum cleaner, there is a neat little inflator tip attachment organizer compartment for the inflator needle valve, brass coupler adapter, and tapered nozzle in the back. I probably won’t even use these, to be honest, since there is the main universal valve adaptor attached to the high pressure hose to fill tires with. I am not exactly a fan, however, of the plastic lever on the back of said universal valve adaptor because I have had those snap off in due time on my aforementioned other brand’s old inflators before. Nevertheless, I am hoping it lasts the test of time. This model looks tougher and has a 2 year limited warranty and 30 day money back guarantee to back it up. Actually, I have a good feeling about this one, so for the moment I can say that I am happy with my purchase.

Easy to use, compact, 3 power sources
Drove 5 miles from home to add air to a low tire, at a cost of $2. I had a portable tire inflator years ago, which had one power source ( cigarette lighter in car). I was not about to try putting air in the tire using a bicycle pump: time to get a new inflator. I already have a number of B&D tools using 20 or 40 volt batteries, so this looked like a good choice. Price was ok. Tried it out, works fine. Difficult to wind up the cord with the car adapter power plug, so I’ll just leave it wrapped with a twist tie. I thought one of the accessory ends ( there should be 3) , was missing, but later found it in the packing box, so if you can’t find one check out the box before you use the inflator. Power plug too short, you’ll need an extension cord. edited August 2024: so had a low tire which I took to a gas station. They found a leak & fixed it with a plug. Tire ok. Checked all tires & used the inflator using fully charged battery. Today another tire was low, too out inflator but battery was low, so I used AC cord. Air comes out of the large ‘nozzle’ but could not use the tire attachment, nothing was lit up. Ended up using my bike hand pump. Disgusted now with inflator. Battery which I charged worked on leaf blower. Going to try the inflator again after I calm down later! Why can’t things work they way they are intended to?..

Compact and versatile Portable Compressor
I did quite a bit of research before making this purchase. Since I already owned a battery operated Hedge Trimmer from B&D this was one I was considering among others. Based on other reviews, I decided to purchase this one because it can work from the B&D 20vdc battery pack I already owned, 12vdc lighter or 120 VAC. This gave me a lot of options to use this at home as well as on the road. This is a "no frills" inflator. No led light, no USB charging for phones, etc. It does however outshine others I had considered because it can also quickly inflate air mattresses or other inflatable items with the high volume setting and hose. Others have commented on its complicated nature. I read the directions once and was done. Worked perfect on all three power sources. I have tested it a few times to inflate some tires and an air mattress and it did a great job. The pressure gauge is accurate and it does as others have said, inflates to a little higher than the set pressure, but then settles down to the stated pressure or within 1/2 lb. Overall I am very happy with its operation. If I hadn't already owned the battery pack and charger, I probably would have gone with something else. I had considered the VIAIR 88P, a few models of AstroAI as well as GSPSCN and the EPAuto 12V DC Portable Air Compressor. Some things to consider as you shop around: Some compressors have a high amp draws and require a direct battery connection, (not very flexible for home use). Others have a cigarette lighter plug, but you still need to have the engine running. Some have their amp draw pushing the limits of many car cig plugs at 150-180 watts / @ 12.5 -15 amps. B&D does not publish the 12vdc amp draw, but I may test mine under load at 30psi and see where it comes in and publish it later.

Multiple power sources. Versatile inflator, convenient size and weight
Battery- pack was tricky, but I got it Inflator ran well when plugged into wall socket or cigarette lighter, but I especially wanted the rechargeable battery feature for remote use. Battery LBXR20 specified in Instructions matched my B & D drill’s 1.5 AH battery, but it would not power the Inflator. Battery pack slid readily into the slot rails, and made a “click”, but it needed to be hard- pressed downward again, so that it snapped flush into the housing, locked into place, and made proper contacts.

Very portable and uses all 20 V black and decker batteries
Uses same batteries as my other 6 black and decker tools - perfect addition - love the auto shutoff and the pump pressure accuracy is dead on - great for pressuring up my stable of bikes 😉

Works well, EASY to use (has pictures)
So I’ve been informed that the official name of this thing is not “the tire blowy-uppie thing.” It inflates tires. It has a special name. La-Dee-da. I got this one because you cannot count on gas stations anymore. The people working in them don’t want to help you and wouldn’t know how even if they did. Those machines don’t work. Since the light is ALWAYS coming on in my car I decided to get a tire blowy-uppie thing and the one I got didn’t work with the cigarette lighter space. This one does. It works a bunch of ways. I didn’t get the battery because I won’t keep it charged, anyway, so why pay for that. Can’t speak to how easy it is to put on and off, but it looks pretty okay to me. This one also has little pictures by the switches so I know what to do!!!!! That is very helpful. I need those little pictures. I got confused with all the mechanical words when I was trying to learn how to use it. But the pictures are easy peasy. It works quickly. It doesn’t take longer than those gas station things. It might be quicker. It seems very strong. I’m not worried about leaving it in the trunk and letting it sit back there. So I’m saying A+ on the tire blowy-uppie thing. And if you know what it is called, congratulations. I don’t care.

Excellent inflator with a terribly-implemented auto shut-off feature
I bought the BLACK+DECKER 20V inflator to have something I can keep in the garage for easy access when the car tires need to be topped off at home. I chose this inflator primarily because I already have several B+D 20V tools and more 20V Max batteries than I know what to do with. I also read a number of reviews and product comparisons for multiple alternative products. Here is how I would rate the features that are most important to me: 5 STARS for size and portability - For me this inflator is staying in the garage, but it's also small enough to tuck in the car (though I never will). 4 STARS for inflation speed - It's not the fastest inflator I've used, but for the size/price range/noise level, it is good. For me I would not pay more for a faster inflator. 4.5 STARS for power options - It's nice to have multiple options for powering the device, even if I only ever want to use a battery. I just have to dock half a star because the 12v cord isn't wound up in the box. That's just an annoyance since I never intend to use the 12v option. 2 STARS for Auto shut-off - I love this feature! I just wish the product designers had put a little thought into it. Every time I unplug the battery, I have to reset the desired PSI! I use 42 psi for my car, which means I have to push the (+) button over 40 times every time I use this inflator. It also over-inflates to get to the desired shut-off point. When set to 42, it consistently inflates to 43.5 psi before it shuts off. (This happens because reading the psi while it's running is not accurate, but it's a bit too much compensation.) Overall this is a great inflator for home use, especially if you already have Black+Decker 20V batteries. (PROTIP: Don't buy a battery separately! You can usually find a tool that comes with a battery and charger cheaper than you can buy a battery alone.)

Excelente producto.

awesome little pump.
This is an awesome little compressor. I wouldn’t say it works any better than most 12v compact compressors, but the fact that you can use 110-120v ac or 12v or 20v battery makes it awesome. Have a high pressure hose and a high volume hose makes this the most versatile little compressor. No more blowing up rafts at the car and carrying it to the beach. Just go right to the beach and blow your stuff up. Small and compact, looks like a little radio. Auto shut off for high pressure works great. It is not quit but is quieter most small compressors. Already love this little thing.

Buen producto
Cumple totalmente con su función. Sin embargo, siempre varía con la presión, por lo que no es tan práctica al usarla para inflar llantas de algún automóvil.
