Niacin is not for sissies!
This is an update. I just started taking Niacin for my cholesterol. I started out gradually 25mg, then 50 mg then 100mg. I just started taking 2-500mg this morning with very little flush. You can feel it working but not bad. I am going to try and take 1000mg 3x day as recommended in the book. niacin the real story. I will provide an update here when I get my cholesterol tested. I can understand why Niacin is not recommended by Dr, first it is cheap and Big Pharma does not make any money off of it. Second, it is not for sissies. It has taken me a month to get here and I have not been real consistent so it probably took longer than it should have. I hope this is a long term solution. Update: Niacin is working at lowering my cholesterol and triglycerides! I am now taking 1000mg 3 times per day, with meals. I do experience a light flush, that is not even noticeable to anyone. I am taking my cholesterol readings at home so the accuracy may not be perfect. My total cholesterol is now 174, triglycerides 84, LDL 149, my HDL has been higher but it was showing 29 which is too low, so I question the accuracy. So far so good!

Good value for the price
The bottle contains 240 capsules, which is a generous quantity for the price. I like the simple packaging and the clear product information. Overall, it seems like a good value. I’m giving it 4 stars for now.

The nicotinic acid form of niacin
This form lowers LDL cholesterol and raises HDL cholesterol, while also providing the typical energy boost that niacin is known for. Magnesium stearate is a salt added to assist flow of product in a factory. Supposedly it's GRAS and in amounts to low to be harmful, but is it? There are other things that could be used to achieve the same end. Nutricost is a brand I purchase a lot but not all their stuff is clean. I accept this because this form of niacin is what I want and options are few.
