Fun to use
If you need high end digital scans this isn’t what you are looking for. But if you want just save old slides this is the perfect solution. I have around 1500 slides, some of them are more as 50 years old laying in a box inside my garage and needed something to bring them back to life in the digital world. The handling is absolute simple and easy to do. It takes a while because you can only do 4 slides at the time. I started now scanning the old slides and after a while you will find your routine to do it a bit faster. The quality of the scans is pretty good always remembering the quality and age of the slides. I transferred the pictures to my computer and started doing some work with the photo software and adjusting color and contrast. It takes a while but if you are a little bit patient you get the job done and the results are pretty good. As I mentioned before you don’t get high end scans but to see that old pictures coming to life again is absolutely satisfying.

Easy and fast.
Worked fantastic. Holders made slides and negatives easy. Converted over 10,000 slides and negatives so far. 1 second scan great.

Disappointed
Returning the product. Very disappointed in the quality of the photo scans and also the negative captures. Even my sharpest pictures scanned in blurred and off color. I tried several settings and adjusting the placement, etc to no avail. My negative captures the color was good, but again, all poor quality and fuzzy. A bit bummed as I wanted a product that could do both without spending a ton. I wasn't expecting super high quality, I just didn't expect the pics to look so distorted. I am going to try the Kodak with over 12k reviews and 4.4 out of 5 rating. It doesn't do the photos but I really need to digitize my negatives.

Scanner glass scratches easily, but the scanner is easy to use and scans are very clear.
I love how this scanner works with pictures and slides. The only downside is that the scanner bed glass scratches very easliy and appears on the scans. I contacted the company asking for a new piece of scanner glass and they sent me a whole new scanner. The image quality of the scans is spot on and ease of uploading to the cloud is good.

I would buy this again in a heartbeat. ♥️
This is a long read but I do believe it's worth it. I purchased this because I have literally thousands of photos that need to go digital. It arrived about 10 days before my ex's celebration of life so I didn't take it out of the box. Two days before that event my daughter called me in tears. She was scanning photos--some of mine, of course--into her laptop and it just wasn't working. I told her I had this and she drove two hours round trip to pick it up. It worked. She had prints made of the copied photos and made memory boards. The prints were just as sharp and vibrant as the originals. This brought back so many memories. Just watching family and friends looking at those pictures and sharing stories helped make that event special for everyone. I would definitely buy this again. And may have to. My son called dibs for using it next. Honestly, I couldn't be more thankful for what this scanner enabled my children, my family, our friends, and my my ex-husband's second wife to experience.

I sent mine back
NOTE: I only used this for printed photos; I did not try using the negative scanner, so please keep that in mind while reading my thoughts. I loved the idea of this photo scanner. And on first try, it seemed like it would be wonderful. It was easy to figure out and operate. But the main thing about it that I liked so much was the fact that you can see on the screen how the photo looks BEFORE capturing it in a scan. That means you can adjust the positioning and know if it’s crooked etc - the screen shows in real time whatever appears on the scanning surface, whereas with a traditional scanner, you can’t see until it takes the scan and shows you the finished product, meaning it may or may not be crooked, upside down, knocked out of place when closing the lid, etc (of course that’s part of what editing software is for, but personally I’d prefer to minimize making those simple fixes where possible). I think that’s a great feature and I really enjoyed that about this product. However, the actual scan quality was AWFUL. I’m not a professional, but I know how to do basic photo editing, and certain fixes that are probably beyond a beginner level. I tried adjusting the settings on the scanner itself (which reflects in real time on the screen; again, great feature in theory), as well as going in and trying different fixes on the photos after scanning them. But whatever I tried, I could not get the photo scans I got from this scanner to look good, or even “okay.” The scans were all blurry and washed out, and even if I did figure out a way to fix it on the editing side, that was way more work than I was willing to put into it for the sake of digitizing family photos. I think one of the biggest problems was the quality of the scan surface. It’s made of cheap plastic, and just in the process of trying to figure out how the scanner worked, it became very scratched up (I was careful because I had seen some previous reviews that mentioned this). Those scratches also seemed to be part of the problem with scan quality. I decided to send this product back after a few hours of messing around with settings etc. It has some potentially really nice features, but they were executed poorly and cheaply. I found a similar product (though no negative scanner) in the same price range that has been wonderful in ease of use and scan quality. If you’re looking at this for photos, I would not recommend. If you’re looking at it for negatives, I can’t advise on that, but make sure you check other reviews that DO talk about that feature.

Worked well, then a spot appeared.
While I did have to figure how to make sure the pictures sit flat (slipping them under the alignment frames), it did well copying pictures. I am not particular on colors, but I could tell they were a bit off, but then, it was a copy. However, after several pictures, I noticed a "spot" on the copied images. I checked the platen glass, swapped how it was placed and repeatedly cleaned. Never could figure out where or why the spot was there. Always in the same location whether it be photo or slide. I'm hesitant to buy a replacement at this time. I might try a different one.
