Total game changer!!!
This is a total game changer!! I purchased this knowing I was heading on a 4000 mile road trip. It was totally worth it. This allows for a more relaxed and comfortable ride by holding your throttle for you. That being said, it is not a true cruise control. If riding in a group it does take constant “tweaking”. It does allow for releasing of the throttle to ease strain from long rides and when used properly you can use less grip strength to maintain your speed. It does install easily. The hardest part was determining the correct pad thickness, but even that was more time consuming rather than difficult. Make sure you order the correct orientation (top or bottom mount) I accidentally ordered the wrong one and it interfered with operation of regular controls. Return process was quick and replacement worked perfectly. After my nearly constant use over a week long period, it does seem to slip a little and does need occasional cleaning to maintain proper contact of the rubber pad. Overall, this is a highly recommended addition to my bike that has no cruise control.

excellent product and customer service
I ordered the Bottom Kit, but found out after receiving it that I needed the Top Kit version. I contacted Atlas and asked if they would do an exchange. They emailed me prepaid postage and I shipped mine back. The turn around time after they received the one I sent them was about a day. All told it took less than two weeks to do the exchange and it went smoothly with no hassle. I was very pleased with the customer service. The product itself seems to be of a high quality build. The instillation instructions are clear and work as they are written. I believe there are also videos available online. The product is very well engineered both in terms of instillation and operation. Once you figure out the correct friction pad to use the instillation only takes a few minutes and it operates as a fairly simple friction lock. It does a good job of holding the throttle in place and can easily be twisted back to off in an emergency without needing to turn the lock off. I rarely write reviews, but this product impressed me enough that I decided it deserved it. I will note one thing to watch out for when installing. The instructions say to use the largest friction pad that will fit. However you need to test it and make sure that if you twist the throttle on it will snap all the way back as long as the lock is off. On my instillation a small rubber seam on the throttle housing was just enough to catch on the friction pad and prevent the throttle from snapping back. It was easily fixed by using a smaller pad. This was barely worth noting, but I suppose if someone was in a rush and didn't test it properly it could cause a problem.

Works, but bike dependent.
The throttle control works well, however it is very motorcycle dependent. On my Ducati, it could hold better, but it’s the distance and spacing of the grip to controls that limits the function, not the actual device. I’m happy with the quality, and will purchase a second one for another bike.

Not worth it
Doesn’t actually provide enough pressure to hold the throttle in place. The tab that the pad sits on is also very very thing and bends away easily. I was expecting better quality and something that would just KIND of work for this price

Even so this is more on the spendy side, it works awesome! Easy installation. Well worth it!! Recommended!!!

Heavy - hard to get just right -updated
The unit is heavy and you feel that on the throttle. Positioning is everything, BMW F800GS Adventure (2014) A Lower mount kit does not work. It just does not fit and can get hung up the upper unit does fit but its a finicky fit. You have to get it tight enough it does not slip but not to tight so it does not pinch the throttle tube. On the F800 - thats like one very narrow opportunity. Tiny screw - the whole system hinges on a tiny screw. If it falls out, you lose your $135 dollar plus investment. First ride: All that said, it worked great and much simpler to operate than the Kako twist unit I've had on the bike for years. Unfortunately, first time out something slipped on the unit and it had popped lose and was just hanging on my throttle like a loose bracelet. The screw was still in, I removed it and have not had a chance figure out why it failed. So my journey has been - Upper unit, which did not fit and is in fact unsafe because it can stick, a lower unit balancing act between tight enough to not slip but not to tight as to pinch the throttle tube. The 30 minutes it worked it did work well, however, I'm wondering how reliable it will be when I do get it working. The unit build quality is excellent - but the design needs to be lighter and with design improvements for the friction pads and clamping mechanism. Update: As mentioned in other reviews, and it may depend on your vehicle, it is a finicky device to get just right on a BMW F800GSA. But I did it! Last summer I took a two week trip through the west on and off road and it held up. Then winter came and I turned on my heated grips, the throttle started sticking, without the cruise control set to on. note I could only get this to work with the thinnest friction pad & also note I am unwilling to cut my BMW heated grips for any custom fitting. Bottom Like - too much trouble on the 2014 BMW F800GS - probably unsafe.

Picture perfect. My new favorite addition to my bike.
As someone who refuses to get on a cruiser for the sake of comfort and having things like cruise control. This device is a literal back and life saver. It honestly held speed at almost any rate and I was cruising down the highway at 80 with no hands. Just vibin while the bike continued to chug along. The only caviat is that because its not an adaptive cruise control like cars that have a certain speed set. If you're going through a hilly area or angles and slopes. You'll have to frequently adjust it to keep speed. But on straightaways and country roads where you are pretty much going straight with no obstructions or change in altitude. It's literally picture perfect. Also in the cases where I left it on and had to brake or suddenly get the throttle to let off. It took very minimal effort and was definitely still savable. I recommend not doing this all the time because it's definitely not as fast of a throttle change with it engaged and to definitely get in the habit / familiarized with how to use it and disengaging and engaging at appropriate times. Also it's likely not very nice to the adhesive on the friction pads. I wouldn't recommend it below 25 mph for sure if you wanna ride with no hands like me because the bike isn't going fast enough to hold itself up right and can still be easily influenced. But at higher speeds it's a blessing. If you pair this with an adjustable stabilizer like a GPR or another reputable brand. You'll have a rock solid way to ride super long distances and not have to stay crunched over the entire time. It has transformed riding long distances on a sport bike forever for me. Bike in the photo is a '96 ZX9-R for those curious about fitment. I definitely do not think the top mount will work with Kawasaki's that have the bird cage on it.

Great Cruise Control Device for Motorcycles
I bought this throttle lock for my motorcycle to use on long trips. It works with friction to lock the throttle where your want it. It comes with four friction pads, so it should work on just about any motorcycle. It is high quality, made of medal and is easy to install. It's not cheaply priced, but at just under $170 it should work within any budget. The hardest part of installing was determining which friction pad to use. Just watch the videos that are available, and installation will be a breeze. I installed mine in less than an hour. It is also easy to use. Just use your thumb to engage, or disengage. It's not meant for use in city riding where there is a lot of changing gears, but it is great once you're cruising out on the open road. I recommend this product to others.

Game changer for longer rides
Bought this product as I’ve started to suffer from pins & needles in my fingers on longer rides. Easy to fit & easy to use. Absolute game changer for me, cruise control for my bike without changing it for a newer model. Just been on a 5 day bike trip & allows me to ride for longer periods without a break. Love it.

Great stuff, prevents so arms and cramped hands.
Have used this for 4 full seasons now, and it's still as good as ever. Never had any issues with it. Mounting it can be a paint depending on your bike. With my Hondas (it's been one 2x now), it can be tricky and needed some "modding" to fit without rubbing, but once it's setup, it's excellent. Nice and tactile, easy to get to with one hand, and holds the throttle quite well, granted I do at times have problems with it 'slipping' and losing speed slowly. That's more of a crappy roads issue usually and not a fault of the product per se. Regardless, I enjoy having it there to be able to whip the feeling back into the throttle hand when it needs, or to simply take the effort out of holding the throttle open when on the highway for a while.
