Perfection
Firstly the boring stuff. Arrived in 2 days after ordering and I used super saver delivery. Whatever your doing Amazon with your delivery guys its out of this world. I got "out for delivery" notification as well as a follow up email letting me know that you had left it with my neighbour as well as giving me his name....FREE DELIVERY AND YOU GET ALL THAT, mind blowing service. So the Ink. Well packaging on the ink was just top notch. Standard amazon box, alot of scrunched paper and bubble-wrap. Get all that off and you get your silver Edelstein box with silver embossed print and cut side panel showing you the ink colour. That alone is expensive packaging looks really good and considering you should keep your ink in its box (to preserve its colour over time) its a great shout, happily leave this out on my desk or ink shelf. Then you got the glass ink well its self, just flawless glass. Beautiful bottle, clear view of the ink inside. Stately black multifaceted Pelikan screw top. The ink its self a rich blue edging towards a turquoise with a touch of aqua but hard to describe in words. Would check out a ink review for that. All in all....5 stars. Experiences like that is why Amazon is just market leader. Oh and tip of the cap to Pelikan, Edelstein inks...i want the whole set.

Clean and free-flowing
It's an excellent ink and almost worth it just for the bottle. I've used it in a Parker Sonnet with medium italic, medium, fine, and extra-fine nibs, a Parker Jotter with medium and fine nibs, and a TWSBI Diamond 580 with a 1.1mm stub nib. I've also used it in my favoured pen, a simple wooden holder with a round hand dip nib. It works very well in all of them. The colour is more of a very dark blue-grey with the merest hint of violet. It's less stark than a black ink and looks eminently sober and professional. If you use it in a drier pen it may appear more of a gunmetal grey than a blue-black, but on the other hand it will probably help that dry pen put down more ink.

Nice black, lovely bottle. Let down by poor flow.
Update: I was falsely blaming this ink for hard starts. I discovered it was my pen. I probably wouldn't pick this black again though as it didn't wow me enough for the price. I will, however, try the Jade now. Currently trying this as my 'everyday' black ink in one of the new model Parker Urbans with a medium nib. It's a nice colour but no real 'wow factor' for the price in my opinion. ( The biggest problem I have with it and a reason I almost gave it 3 stars is that if I stop writing, I have to scribble on a scrap page to get the ink flowing again. This is not something I expect from an ink at this price, especially since the usual price elsewhere is about £16. For this reason, I'll be trying some other black inks before considering this one again. It does write a bit better than my Pelikan 4001 purple though. I wanted to try the Jade but this has honestly put me off it. My opinion is that it acts like a cheaper ink which is placed in a fancy bottle and given a good quality ink price. That said, the bottle is nice to have in my collection.) I'll update my opinion once I've tried some other blacks in the same price range.

Summer Blue with Sheen and Shade
What a beautiful colour ink! Very similar to J.Herbin's Bleu Pervenche, but this has a more pronounced red edge sheen than the Herbin and is a slightly deeper blue. Very smooth flowing ink and it looks luminous on the page when dry. Great shading properties, too. I've had this inked up in at least one pen since I bought it. it's incredibly well-behaved and I've had it in a TWSBI Eco, Vac700R, Waterman Expert, Noodlers Ahab and an Edison Collier and it's behaved superbly in all of them. This is a vibrant, Mediterranean-type blue and the bottle is a fantastic looker. This ink ticks all my fountain pen ink boxes: wet, great shading, and sheen.

Product of high quality
Used in a fountain pen that was bought as an undergraduate in the 1950's and reminded me of the colour of ink I used to take notes. First rate product. Delivered in UNDER the agreed time.

No Eidelstein packaging, missing box.
Ink is great! Packaging is rubbish. No cardboard edelstein box, just the ink bottle with the foam stopes thrown in?! Really disappointed, I always keep their inks in their boxes but have no choice with this one :/

Lovely Black Ink
Ink flows well, dries quickly, lovely bottle. Black ink seems to have a hint of iron brown (what I wanted). Works very well with my not too expensive Waterman pen.

I have tried a number of fountain pen inks...they all say non-clogging, but this is the only ink I have found that really is non-clogging. The colors are deep and rich (I have several colors) and work great with my vintage and heirloom fountain pens. I wouldnt use anything but this in my Mont Blanc. It is considerably more expensive than other inks, but if you have a Mont Blanc or similar fountain pen, you want the best.
