Easy to use
Easy to use one-coat lime plaster. Rather like conventional one-coat, this contains particulates that allow you to put it on more thickly than conventional lime plaster. Once on the wall, you smooth it over with a sponge float, bringing the chalky bits to the surface and allowing a smooth finish with a metal trowel – though it's a more matt finish than conventional plaster (and much nicer in an old house). The only downside is it falls off the hawk more easily – you can't hold the hawk at an angle as you might with conventional plaster or it all ends up on the floor!
