First, the back story. I have 4" PVC pipe-based dust collection system that I wanted to adapt to my DeWalt DW705 miter saw (ti's an oldie but a goodie - it was actually made in the good 'ol USofA). The dust port on the saw has a 1-1/2" OD. There is not much out there that fits this port. I wanted to adapt the saw's dust port to my 4" dust collection system. But first, I had to go from 1-1/2" (dust port) to 2-1/2 (standard hose) to 4" dust collection system. So trying to adapt my DeWalt's exhaust port to 2-1/2" hoses has, so far, been a small project unto itself. Then . . . I found this adapter set. The only one I really needed was the 2-1/2" to 1-7/8" funnel. These are all OD dimensions so took a chance that the 1-7/8" OD would fit my 1-1/2" OD dust port. And lo and behold, it fits like a glove. The actual ID for the funnel is 1-1/2" which is the OD of my dust port so I have to give it up to the manufacturer for having and showing accurate dimensions for this product because as we all know some Amazon products are at best a stab in the dark - even though they are clearly denoted in a picture of the product - most are metric conversions to Imperial/SAE units - some good, some not so good. Also, the walls seem to be thick enough so perhaps it will be in service for awhile specially on a miter saw that will see constant and repetitive up and down motions which really is its sole purpose in life. In closing, if you have a DeWalt DW705 miter saw and need an adapter for your dust collection system, stop looking and buy one of these. By the way, my saw is on a Bosch T4B stand so the pictures show it folded up.

I was looking for a union to connect my hose for the Workbench wet/dry vac to an older hose from my previous wet/dry vac. This union works perfectly - the hose cuffs are 2.27" OD, and the union ID is 2.30". (I have the 16 gallon Workshop vac, which I purchased on Amazon a number of years ago. I think that it's an excellent wet/dry vac. To me, it's better than the equivalent Ridgid vac, since the Workshop vac has larger wheels.) What I really like about this seller, is that he listed every single diameter, both ID and OD, for each piece. I checked his measurements and they are all correct. A lot of adapter sellers do not provide such detailed info, so I do not order from them to avoid the hassle of returning parts which do not fit. Thus, I think that if people return these adapters (it's a "frequently returned item"), it's because they don't bother measuring the parts they plan to attach to these adapters before they order them. I do not have any use for the two reducers right now, so I cannot comment on how well they will work. All three pieces are made out of hard, heavy plastic, so it looks that they will survive for a long time.

While there is not much that can be said about shop vac hose adapters, I can certainly report that the three pieces in the kit have allowed me to connect my shop vacs to every one of my different power tools. I have many brands and types of tools in the shop and I can connect to all of them with the adapters in this kit. I've been using them almost daily for some months now and can report their durability is solid, no cracks, wear or damage. I 100% recommend this adapter set, it will simply make things easier...

The product appears to be OK one piece The main coupling is soft rubber. The rest are hard plastic for the price. I guess it’s good unfortunately it doesn’t fit anything I have.

Vacuum adapters sizes are hard to match, there doesn't seem to be an industry standard

I was able to use attachments from a different shop vac for my Dewalt wet/dry. Saved me money and time hunting for specific attachments.
