Osprey Raptor 10L Men's Biking Backpack with Hydraulics Reservoir

I use this pack for hiking. Good size bladder, plenty of space in the bag, and very comfortable. Great pack.

That is one of the best backpacks available from numerous brands. I purchased this particular model 13 years ago, and it remains in excellent condition. Aside from the rubber bands that secure the water tube, it appears almost new. It has accompanied me for 15,000 km on my bike and on hundreds of mountain hikes. Naturally, I acquired another one of the same brand and size.

Pack came new and exactly as advertised and was around $80 less expensive than the same pack sold in-store in my home town. Thanks!

Who designed this ridiculous bladder compartment? On all other packs, including Osprey, you can have the drinking tube come out on either side. I guess Osprey hates left-handed people. But beyond that what's with the zipper that runs halfway down the shoulder strap. It's such a pain to load and unload the bladder. So unnecessary. I don't know why pack manufacturers are phasing out the open stuff pockets. They are the most useful part of having a pack. Quick access for stuffing a layer into or putting a small tool pack into. 10 years ago you couldn't buy a pack without one, now they're hard to find and are way too small to be useful when they do have them. It's hard to get things in and out of it because it's so tight and the center strap instead of two side straps on the back stuff pocket just gets in the way.

Had already one Raptor 10 for my son, which is very good. The second item however has some issues: The bad packaging of the water tube left it with a bend which hardly let any water passing through. Secondly, the magnet keeping the tube stuck to the holster is so weak, it comes off continuously when riding, which is extremely annoying. Thirdly the string for the helmet attachment is not pulling back in, somehow not properly connected to the inside spring. Shameful quality issues! (none of these issue were showing on my first Raptor 10)

Firstly, I’m a bit of an Osprey fan! And this is a fantastic pack for MTB and cycling in general. I love the 2.5L water bladder, the pocket on the bottom to organise my tools and small bits and bobs is well designed. The overall storage space is great as well. This is replacing my viper 9. It has worked so well, but after over 9.5 years of great service it’s retired. Osprey are comfy, reliable, well designed for cycling and man do they last! Only downside is the water bladders don’t last as long.
