Reflectix BP24025 24-Inch by 25-Feet Bubble Pack Insulation, 1-Unit

I used the Reflectix BP24025 Bubble Pack Insulation specifically to insulate my garage door, and it made a noticeable difference in temperature control right away. I need to order one more pack still but I almost had enough. Installation was pretty straightforward. The material is lightweight and easy to cut to size with basic scissors, which made fitting it to each garage door panel simple. I used basic adhesive and some tape to secure it, and it stayed in place without any issues. Once installed, I could immediately feel a reduction in heat coming through the garage door. During hot days, the garage stays noticeably cooler, and it also helps reduce how much heat transfers into the house from that side. It’s not the same as full foam board insulation, but for an easy and affordable upgrade, it performs well. The material itself is thin but surprisingly effective when installed correctly with an air gap. It also helps slightly with noise reduction, though that’s a secondary benefit. Overall, this is a solid DIY insulation option if you’re looking to improve temperature control in your garage without doing a full remodel. It’s easy to work with, budget-friendly, and does exactly what it’s designed to do.

Probably the BEST Product I have EVER Bought! Works to keep Heat IN when cold, as well as Heat OUT when hot! Used all lwinter to surround my space heaters and hold the heat next to where I sit to eat, use computer... Also put in bed-side window to keep the cold OUT... This summer, I tried the same for bed-side window to keep the western sun OUT, as the sun baked the bedroom and raised the room's temp dramatically; Works EXCELLENTLY FOR BOTH! Bought last winter, will NEVER go without! I have fitted several western windows now, and place tightly against glass in the afternoons, then remove. Because of its foil, I find cutting the pieces slightly larger than the windows, I am able to just push into place and pull to remove... A couple days ago I made an interior windshield glass cover for my car. It took One large and Two smaller pieces taped together (Use wide strong tape, not office paper tape) for the over-sized windshield and This time I did also apply two small pieces of self-adheseve velcro to the inside top of the glass and to the wrap. Once again, cut a little tiny bit larger than the glass, as the foil helps to retain the piece's shape. It actually took me several trimminimg cuts to maintain the slightly bigger shape that helps hold it in place... I have since used it many times to help keep the Summer Sun from BAKING the interior of my car - up and down EZ! and even tho it's three pieces taped together, the foil material is very resilient and I believe this is All-round AWESOME STUFF! Before Next Winter, I will buy it again, the cost here is the most reasonable I've seen, and I continue to find uses for this as time goes by! There are videos of folks using it around or inside their ice coolers, and I have No Doubt that will be Next on my list of Fabulous Uses for REFLECTIX BUBBLE WRAP!!! Would give this MORE STARS if it were an option!!!

Great insulator to keep heat out from windows

I was a bit skeptical at first. However, if one has ever used a window car shade - it does in fact work at keeping the inside of the car a bit cooler. I went into this project with the mentality of a sunshade for the garage. I looked up various materials to insulate the inside of my garage door, here in Texas. I considered weight which would be added to my garage door and price. I chose this product due to it's weight, price and name recognition. So, I took measurements of the garage panels which would be covered with this material. I used the appropriate adhesive / tape and began the work. I cut the pieces just slightly longer to allow pockets to be formed between the garage door panel and the insulation, which allows air circulation between the panel and the material. I didn't want the material to be immediately against the panel which may cause it to absorb heat and then just become a conductor of heat. It did not take long and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the results. At first I thought the temperature drop was just in my mind. I bought a lazer thermometer and took measurements several different days. The results were quite the same. The inside of the garage was at least 10 degrees cooler and at times a bit more. An added bonus is the material also has served as a sound barrier. Less noise comes in through the garage door. I can still hear outside noise, but it is quieter. I recommend this product if you are considering insulating your garage door. It worked wonders for me here in Texas.

This product was purchased to reduce rate and intensity of heat being transferred through my garage door into the rest of the garage. The Reflectix Bubble Pack Insulation definitely reduced the rate and intensity of the heat. I had two south and one west facing garage doors in a partially insulated detached garage that had to be treated with the Reflectix Insulation. I started the process on a Monday and continued through Friday. The temperature graph (see image) shows the outdoor temperature about 20 feet south of the building (blue bottom line) vs. the temperature inside the building (green top line). The inside building temperature sensor is situated along the same south wall as garage door. As the installation process progressed, the difference between the internal and external building temperatures shrank significantly. The other two images show thermal images prior to and after the installation of the Reflectix insulation on one of the south facing garage door (+/- one hour during a 24 hour period). The temperature reduction was 25 degrees Fahrenheit on average. The insulation was approximately the right size I needed (reduced waste), was easy to cut and move around and worked well with the double sided adhesive tape and the Reflectix metal sealing tape. It did not tear and seemed very durable. My goal is to reduce the heat and cold stress on the building and its contents.

This is in response to a question from another Amazon customer Amazon requested I answer their question. No, while this is a great product, it is more suitable for insulating windows, closets or cabinets. This product was not designed for " Attic Insulation" as specific materials involving heat zone requirements and several other factors make traditional fiberglass insulation more suitable for an attic. There's no cheap way to insulate an attic. I hope this answered your question.

It is nice to have two layers of protection keeping the cold out. warning do nit use it where moisture collects because it will in crease TRHOSE AREAS TO GROW MOLD. oTHER THAN THAT IT WORKS PERFECT!

We built our chicken coop out of a would-be shed kit. Thinking it was like a house, we put insulation in only to find the environment was very warm in summer, very cold in winter. The opposite of what I expected. I even took out much of the insulation after the first year and it made very little difference. Someone in one of my chicken groups mentioned this stuff, so I figured I'd give it a try. It didn't have to be neat or pretty so the installation portion was pretty simple. I can tell a difference, tho, and that's what I really needed. It stays cooler than it did when the temps hit 90 or more. Not sure about winter yet since it's only been in there a month. I did use a little bit in the back room of an RV that has no shade. I can tell a difference in there. It used to be as soon as I walked in, even tho shades were drawn constantly when it's parked, I would start sweating. Spending any amount of time in there meant walking out drenched. It's not that way anymore and the only difference is I put some of this over the windows. I did look at different brands, because there are cheaper options to be found. What I realized and I think makes a difference is the plastic bubbles in the middle. It seems those are instrumental in helping this stuff do its job well. If you end up with just two pieces of foil with a flat plastic middle, it may not have the same effect. I don't for sure since I didn't try it, but something to consider.
