Can Hylotyte Red 100 be used in contact with fuel? No. Hylotyte Red 100 is not resistant to fuel and should not be used. Hylomar M can be used for this type of application

Would this solution be suitable for sealing lathe gear boxes?

Yes, providing there is a gasket to seal. Otherwise use silicon sealer on clean, oil free surfaces.

Can this be used on copper head gasket?

No, do not use any sealer on a head gasket. Ensure both head and block are free of any grease or oil and use thinners or methalated spirit to clean surfaces. Fit gasket dry, these are usually coated in a lacquer which bonds the gasket to the surfaces.

Would this work if it was applied to an oil sump plug on a car? The engine oil used by the car is fully synthetic.

If you mean the drain bolt then no, you want a copper washer on that which should be annealed first. If you are talking about the mating surfaces of the sump onto the crankcase then this is ok if used alongside a gasket. If no gasket you want hardening silicon gasket used evenly but sparingly.

Hylomar stops leaks !

I've used this on a 1960s motorbike and it has actually stopped the oil leaks that I've been plagued with for years. An excellent product. Highly recommended !
