Wahl Cord/Cordless Hair Clipper

Purchased this rechargeable clipper a while ago to replace a Wahl AA battery operated clipper that is about seven years old and needs a new clipper blade head. This 9655 rechargable model is actually very nice to use and lasted a lot longer than I expected before needing a recharge. Its cut my hair three times so far, it was slowing down slightly towards the end of the third cut. All of the attachments are the same as the AA battery version I already own so I should be sorted for years to come. The only down side I can see regarding the Wahl 9655 clipper is that there is no indication on the clipper to tell you when its fully charged, although there is a charge indicator you just have to try to estimate how long it will take to fully charge the internal battery. For the price I think the 9655 kit is extremely good value for money and it include a handy travel or storage case that keeps all of the accessories in one place. I am happy to recommend this product.

Fantastic product.I was rather dubious about buying this item to be honest as it seemed a little too cheap to be good.I am happy to say I was mistaken.It comes with combs 2-9 a comb and a pair of scissors.My husband (this is the wife) has very fine sparse hair as he has a rather large bald patch (sorry dear but you do!) and our existing wahl corded clippers miss at least 50% of the hair. I decided to get a cordless set for ease of use as it can be rather tiresome using clippers,The item is VERY lightweight. I have arthritic wrists and even I found it comfortable to use and hold. There is none of the vibration one would expect either which is a big bonus as I don't end up with numb hands for an hour or so after using it.Very handy for chasing a toddler around to finish his hair too as it is cordless. I managed to cut hubbys and little guys hair without the need to charge the clippers and that was right out of the box. Has a very effective storage bah rather than a large cumbersome plastic case too so takes up much less room in the cupboard.Would 100% recommend this item to a friend and at this price I'm really pleased with them.

I've been using Remington hair clippers for some years now however they were getting less and less effective and I need some clippers to travel with so these seemed like a good idea. The initial reaction is that these are quite flimsy compared to the older clippers however it does mean that they are fairly light too. The cutting combs strike me as very flimsy but I guess my hair is not that tough so this is probably not a problem. The carrying case is lightweight but seems appropriate to the task. I charged the clippers up for almost 24 hours as instructed and applied oil (also in the instruction). I was impressed by the standard of the cut I got with them and the other half said it looked good too. For the money these seem decent value however I'll update this as I use them more.

Works well, no complaints. I use it for trimming and shaping my beard. You can use it for trimming other parts of your body, but I would not recommend using it on your "sensitive" regions. It is easy to clean as the blade head comes off easily. Do note that it does not use Li-ion batteries. It uses batteries of an old chemistry that have the "memory effect". Please try to fully deplete the battery before you charge it again. The led light will glow red when it is low on battery, that is probably the right time to recharge it. I have read a few reviews claiming that the battery died quickly and does not retain its charge for very long. This is because they recharged the battery very frequently, this is the best thing to do for your phone/laptop/electric car Li-ion batteries, not for this clipper. It takes a few hours to fully recharge, but it is cheaper than the other clippers with Li-ion batteries.

This has just got to get four stars. OK, it's a pretty noisy beast and especially so when it's working up close to your ears (which it is) but come on, a rechargeable hair clipper in a nice case with lots of accessories, instructions, lubricating oil, good scissors and so on - all for the price of one haircut at my local barbers? C'mon, this is unbelievable value and all I can ask is how is it done? Buy one now if you want to save £375 a year. Oh and btw, it does a great job.

This is really nice to use. I have another I bought earlier that is not so well made. This was the same price and of better quality, although the cutting mechanism/blades/guards are exactly the same. Now I have two clippers and don't need to worry about running out of battery during power cuts, although if the mains is working then you can use it when plugged in to the charger just like a wired clipper. My only complaint is that the number 1 length guard is a different design to the others and will not allow you to blend hair length by rocking fore and aft, so number 2 is the shortest you should go unless you want a number 1 all over! I've given it 5 stars because it's saved me £128 over the last year!
