Super Lube 21036 Synthetic Grease is a food grade lubricant listed in it's safety data sheet. I'd use just a thin film. It's a type of non-oxidizing silicone grease with PTFE.

Is this white translucent suitable for u-joints/spiders in pickup trucks?

Manufacture states is GC-LB rated, so I would say yes. I have not used it for that application so I cannot comment on effectiveness.
