What are the usable diminsions of each compartment?

There are 24 compartments in total. The four along the back row with the hinges are a bit wider, measuring 3.375" long by 1.875" wide by 1.875" deep. The two in the center of the front row, where the latch is, have a small cutout for the latch, reducing their effective width to 3.375" L x 1" W x 1.875" D. The remaining 18 compartments have uniform dimensions of 3.375"L x 1.375" W x 1.875" D.

Anyone use these to store your child's car collections? Can they be hung up? If so, what kind of hanger would work?

They come ready to be hung up on the wall. They store 24 hotwheels cars or small 1/64 s.

Would this hold nail polish?

Yes it has individual compartments I use mine for hot wheels cars but I think nail polish is about same size

What is the difference between the regular and the 2020 versions?

I didn’t know their was a Regular and a 2020 version.
