With a platform bed and a relatively new extra firm top mattress, we decided to get a topper for more whole body support, softness and comfort. The 4" option was a good choice for my big husband, as well as keeping the bed surface even, it's a solid kind of cushy without being too spongy, and the pillow top is really comfortable. It's been a game changer, we are sleeping more comfortably and soundly, less shoulder and back aches in the morning. We don't wake each other up anymore rolling over. It arrived ahead of schedule in a pro, compact package, easy to set-up and no odor. This pillow top topper is a quality product and good investment. We are really glad we chose the ViscoSoft.

This is a great mattress topper, this replaced a very expensive brand name that would not stay in place and was too small for mattress. I wish I would have trusted this one first. Good comfort, stays in place, does not get warm.

I wasn’t sure this was going to work for me, but I tried it. It arrived in a pretty large box, but it wasn’t too heavy to move up stairs, it was pretty easy to unpack and lay out on the bed. I definitely let it lay out for at least 24 hours maybe even 36 if I can remember right. The foam part inflated a little bit after it was put on, then the white topping seemed a bit baggy, but it was ok because it fit great over my deep mattress with the topper. I am overall impressed. It’s extremely comfortable. It’s like sleeping in a cloud! It helps my nerve pain in my legs. I am just curious as to how long the foam with hold up. Overall it was a great price for the king size mattress topper, and I will hopefully be buying another one for another bed that we own. 12/3/24— Update—— so weirdly enough I wrote this review above right when I put the mattress topper on my bed in August 2024 and was pretty much obsessed with it but now here we are not even six months later I think it’s actually been four months and every time I lay on the mattress topper it’s sunken in where I lay, I do expect it to happen but my back pain is back so clearly this is not working anymore, but it was good while it lasted I guess . I have rotated it two times since I put it on and it still sunken in an enough to Cause me back discomfort. Unfortunately I will not be keeping it that long.

I have waited 5 months to leave a review. I wanted to make sure that all the bad reviews I read here were real or false. I have degenerative disc disease so I couldn't sleep in my bed with my husband anymore. I was sleeping in a recliner in the living room. I sell on eBay so I had an eBay room. With much discussion with my husband, we cleaned out my eBay room got me a hospital bed off of Facebook Marketplace and I finally ordered this mattress topper. Now it is important to tell you that I spent months researching mattress toppers. I read the good reviews and the bad. If I saw a common thread in the bad reviews then I didn't even think about going with that topper. Then I saw the video that Arzante posted with his 5-star review. I took a second look at this topper again. It was now at the top of my list. I received the topper a few days before my room was ready. So I was able to lay it out for a few days prior to sleeping on it. One thing I saw in several reviews on a lot of toppers was that there was a horrible chemical smell. Mine had no odor at all. That was the first thing I did when we got it opened was to take a big sniff and I didn't smell anything bad. I am a woman in my early 50s and I have horrible hot flashes. I also weigh over 250 pounds. I think it is important for you to know this for the second part of my review. I have read a lot of reviews complaining of the foam making them hot during the night or the foam flattened when used. This is why I wanted to wait 5 months to leave my review. I wanted to make sure I gave YOU accurate information. August in Iowa is unpleasant to begin with, but when you throw hot flashes into the mix it can be downright miserable. My wonderful husband put in a ceiling fan and a window air conditioner in my room. Along with an atomic clock that tells me the temperature in the room and what it is outside. I didn't have much trouble with being hot when sleeping with the topper. I was even using cotton sheets. Now it is Winter in Iowa. There are a few things I have figured out during my 5 months with my topper. Tencel or bamboo sheets are a must-have for those who run hot when they sleep. After the window air conditioner was taken out I did start waking up hot and had to uncover for a while. I am still using the ceiling fan and it helps. This is where the atomic clock comes in. I have also closed the vent in my room to our boiler so I get very little heat in my room. I prefer to go to bed when my room is at around 65 degrees. At times I wake up and my room is 71 - 73 degrees. Most days it is 69 degrees. With a room that cool and bamboo sheets I get chilled when I go to bed, but within minutes I am warmed up and perfectly comfortable. These are some of the things that I do to make sure my foam topper stays in good condition. At least once a month we strip the bed and flip the topper and make sure that what was at my feet is now at my head and the top is now the bottom. The topper is inspected for creases, rips, or tears. I have yet to find one. We also switch the hospital mattress from foot to head and vice versa. One of the things I was worried about using a foam topper was using an adjustable hospital bed. My head and feet are raised. What is this doing to the foam topper? Nothing. It is perfectly fine. This is important to know. When you wash the padded mattress cover DO NOT PUT IT IN THE DRYER!!! Let it air dry. We read the instructions and dried it on low and it seems to have shrunk a little bit. In width not in length. It is about an inch narrower on both sides now. This isn't a huge deal, I don't sleep on the edge of the bed. Also, twin XL sheets are not going to fit perfectly on this bed. We got straps that make the sheets tighter. Deep pocket sheets are not your friend with a hospital bed. This is my take on this topper. It is comfortable. I do feel like I am being cradled when sleeping. I don't move much in my sleep as it is a twin bed and when it is adjusted it is hard to sleep on your side unless you flatten the bed more. My back and hip pain has diminished. It will never go away fully, but I don't have to wrap a heating pad around my lower back for an hour after getting up just to be able to move. This is not a firm topper, nor is it is super soft. I guess for me I am Goldilocks and I found the one that is just right. At the end of the day, it is about your preference. This is perfect for me and if I ever need to replace this topper I will be buying this same one again.

Update 2; It’s been a year since I purchased my topper for my bed. As I am disabled and spend approximately 20 out of 24 hours a day so much more wear then most people anyways my gel pad or some component started popping and I could feel it so I figured my gel pad needed replacing so instead of ordering the whole pad set again, I would replace just the gel section with the 3” gel pad. I will say now they are not the same gel pads. The 3” is a denser pad and does not feel as soft or mold as much. The gel pad in this set if you put your had on it and press you can see the whole indentation of your hand as it slowly raises back up, but with the 3” it responds immediately. I would rather find another pad just like the 2.5” which is so much more comfortable the difference is night and day making the 3” like a cheap knockoff of the 2.5”. Morale of the story, the other gel pads don’t add up to the one in this set. Just Incase I didn’t mention it they are both the same brand. Update 1) Edit: worked so well purchased one for my son who just purchased a new mattress thinking it was soft at the store when it was delivered he ended up on the couch it hurt to much to sleep on. Well of course I couldn’t have that so being a good mom I went on amazon and ordered him one of these mattress gel toppers. He’s back in his bed and loves it. The best part of amazon is I don’t have to fret that he lives 2000 miles away amazon allows me to pretend I’m right next door and running to the store for him. Love this topper and amazon too. Original review: Love this mattress topper best my husband and I sleep so much better since getting this topper. It takes a hard mattress and makes it sleepable again. It won’t make a lumpy mattress smooth or fix dips in a mattress but it will take too hard of a mattress and make it comfortable again. Love love love this mattress topper. My husband couldn’t sleep anymore because our mattress was too hard and would hurt his back and shoulders now he sleeps in on the weekends and feels great in the morning. He doesn’t toss and turn all night trying to get comfortable he has a more restful sleep. If your bed is normally high adding 4 inches is no joke but can be funny so remember your adding height to your bed. I really recommend this topper.

AMAZING. The non-toxic new smell airs out in a couple of days. It has made our meh mattress into an incredibly inviting luscious not too hard not too soft but just right cloud of comfort. It looks great, attaches easily, has no bumps, and supports our 70 year old backs. Plus, in a queen sized bed, I can’t feel my husband rolling around at night anymore. I recommend this, and I am sensitive to odors of new products—not this one. Plus it dissipates quickly. We love our ViscoSoft 4” Pillow Top Memory Foam Mattress Topper! I bought a new, low end, extra firm beautyrest mattress 6 months ago which had great reviews saying it was good for back. Having disc, neck and vertebrae issues, I got it. It had a huge lump like it was folded when I got it. It was rock hard and felt like I was sleeping out in my driveway on asphalt. My back was getting ripped apart on it and I never felt worse. I could barely walk after 5 months on it. I couldn't afford to buy another mattress, so I figured I'm gonna try one more topper and if it doesn't work, I'm gonna have to go back to a waterbed mattress. I got a couple different mattress toppers, and I also already had a 4" memory foam one. All of them left me in horrible pain. I finally researched everything I could, and decided I'd be willing to spend a little more one last time and I could use it on a waterbed if it don't work. I don't know how long this is gonna last, but this topper changed everything. My bed, which was crushing my sciatic nerve cuz it was rock hard, is now comfortable and actually feels soft, but is firm still, unlike the other cheap 4" topper that felt cheap too. This topper has been having my back. I got some Beckham hotel pillows with it for my neck. I pray to God it lasts a long time cuz that mattress was a cheap piece of scrap and a huge disappointment for a beautyrest. I am so glad I got this. Trust me, all memory foam mattresses toppers aren't created equal. I highly recommend it. I like that it has the polyester topping too which is the main reason I got it. I need the down alternative cuz it's the best with the combination instead of just the foam. The price went up a lot since I bought it. I think they should put the price down, but seriously, as long as a person sleeps each day, I'm done with cheap mattresses. Your health is worth it. It'll save you $$ from chiropractor visits.

This is my third attempt to purchase a mattress topper to my liking. My first was too far. The second was too soft. This mattress topper is also less firm than I would like for it to be however it completely neutralized my sleep apnea with zero events per hour. So despite my desire for more firmness, it absolutely and positively aligned my body properly to get a better quality of rest. So all that to say, if you’re looking for a mattress, that’s not too firm but still offer support for decreased back pain and better quality sleep, I highly recommend this product

Not firm at all but it does bounce back well. Definitely would have preferred a firmer piece of foam. I've also had this mattress in open air for 2 weeks and it still smells. I will give it one more week otherwise I will return it.
