Good cooler!
This is a very nice cooler! This is made of galvanized iron to ensure toughness and durability.Uses only 200 watts of power for it's size for maximum efficiency.Only weighs 40 lbs (when empty) to easily move around.Fit's with it's surrounding and I'm very happy with it!

On A Patio In Houston
So far so good. First you need to know is that we are using this in a large covered patio in TX and I have no illusions that ii is an “air conditioner.”- it’s not. That being said it does add a cooling factor to the area so it does what I wanted it to do.In the past we had a Cajun Kooler that a windstorm destroyed so, as a cost saving measure (those bad boys are pricey) we went with this instead. It has been everything the old unit was with a few extras (hose hookup & ice packs) for substantially less money. As this is a more of a fan on steroids, it might be nosier than some folks would prefer & with TX heat you’ll have to have it closer to you than you might like. Regardless of all that is you go in knowing it’s not an AC this will work out great for you.

Not cold
It blows air but doesn’t stay cool long- portable ac unit would have been the better way to go

As Advertised
It works as advertised as a swamp cooler. I would suggest ordering extra set of ice packs with it.

They are OK, could be higher output.
First of all - these are a decent cooler - but read on.Initially when I opened them, I was disappointed. They scream "generic" complete with the cheesy sticker in huge bold print that says "EVAPORATIVE COOLER" on the top, hate that. Easy enough, pull of the sticker. I filled the unit, and turned it on. It works, but it is extremely over rated. I had two running, with ice in a 3000 square foot building. It wouldn't drop the temp even a couple degrees - just made it muggy. The cooling mats are not very good. I will replace them with a a higher grade mat, and make them work. But I recommend you buy two sizes larger than what you expect to use. Also, keep in mind these only work in dry climates. I live in a desert, with 18% relitive humidity. Swamp coolers work here. They won't above 50% in my experience.

Excellent Design/Product Quality
I really love the design of this product, especially the casters which make it easy to move, the ability to run the fan with or without cooling and/or oscillation, the controls which are well-designed and easy (and even fun) to use, the handy drain plug and (last but not least) no less than three different options for filling the unit with water! You can pour water into the tank via the door provided on the front of the unit. Or you can fill the tank by attaching your garden hose directly to the unit via the connector provided on the side. This option features auto-shutoff via float switch functionality to prevent overfilling of the tank. As such, this presumably also means that you could keep your hose continuously connected to the unit to automatically top off the tank as the water evaporates (but I’m not sure I’d recommend that, especially when the unit is unattended). Finally you can add water directly into the water distribution tray located on the the top of the unit via a large door. In the water distribution tray you’ll also find slots to insert (optionally if desired) the three medium-sized ice packs that come included with the unit. And if you really want to go crazy, there is enough extra room (even with the ice packs installed) to dump a full bag of ice in there as well! Here I should mention that I don’t really know if you’re supposed to be putting ice in there or not, so proceed with caution. What I do know is that with 3 frozen ice packs in there along with another 6 lbs of ice dumped on top of them (for the next half hour or so at least) it’s somehow suddenly September in Texas…THREE MONTHS EARLY!
