Good Results
I've used this hair dye in various colours over the years. I used 2 bottles this time as I have medium length locs. The method I used was to apply the 2 bottles to clean, DRY hair. Leave it on for one hour, rinse with lukewarm water, then pour diluted conditioner over the hair (2-3 squirts of conditioner in 200ml of water) and leave for a few minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water again, put on a towel for 15-30 minutes, and finally blow dry hair on the lowest heat. I did NOT use shampoo during the application/rinsing process, but I washed my scalp with shampoo 5 days later. The colour has taken really well, as my hair was a medium brown. The photos don't do it justice, but you can see the purple shine in good lighting. My hair looks shiny and healthy and the colour has stuck. Be aware the colour can transfer onto pillow cases, etc. until the hair is washed a few times. It is a messy process dying locs, and there will be some cleaning to do after. The dye will stain lighter coloured fabrics. I usually do the petroleum jelly around the hairline, but couldn't be bothered this time, and found a baby wipe cleared any dye residue from my skin. I typically lay a large plastic bag/bin bag in the bath to reduce the mess. Overall very happy with the results and quality of the product. Update: 2 weeks and 2 hair washes later, the purple is more visible, vibrant, and my hair still looks healthy.

my fav pink hair dye!!!
love this colour so much! i put this on top of my hair that has a red base and i didnt really think the colour would show up but it did and im so satisfied with the end result. it's super vibrant and does fade a bit but that's as expected with semi perm dyes. it does what it needs to and thats the most important bit. it is a bit drying however so a quick hair mask usually does the job. 10/10 !! this is my second buy for this hair dye and ive also bought the magenta one from adore as well.

beautiful colour
an incredible hair colour it’s absolutely gorgeous! it lasts a long time. it’s a gel consistency and is a little harder to soak into hair so i mixed it with conditioner and that worked so much better!

Red look in the sun but black indoor
I used the shade Ruby Red, and overall, I really liked the results. This product is great if you’re looking for a red tint that shows up in the sun but still looks black indoors. My hair was fully black, and after dyeing it, the change was subtle—barely noticeable inside, but the red tones show up nicely in sunlight. The application was pretty easy. The formula is quite liquidy, so it spreads well through the hair. The smell was strong—definitely chemical—but it didn’t bother me too much. To me, it just smelled like a really strong shampoo. I left the dye on for about 80 minutes and used my blow dryer on a gentle setting for around 2 minutes during that time to help the dye settle in. After rinsing (I only used water, no shampoo), I straightened my hair the next day and noticed a nice shine. My hair looked nice overall, although the ends did feel a little drier—which is expected when using dye. One thing to note: the dye did stain my clothes a bit after washing my hair, so be careful with towels and shirts afterward. If you’re hoping for a bold red look indoors, I’d suggest bleaching first. But if you want a more subtle red tint that only catches the light outside, this is a good option. I’d use it again for a low-maintenance pop of color.

Terrible !
If your hair is bleached, this Will leave you with green and blue blotches ! It is not grey . Desperately wish I hadn't tried it without a test streak. I've been Violet. I've been petrol blue... my hair was palest blonde. I used two bottles to saturated with colour. It's so bad.

Great range of semi-permanent colours, but just doesn't cut it
Adore has a healthy selection of natural semi-permanent colours, which are increasingly difficult to find outwith your typical natural black dyes or box dye alternatives. I've repurchased a few of their colours on multiple occasions. However, I find myself hesitant to return, aside from the lack of competition, because these dyes just don't have great staining power. They tend to fade quickly, and I've found multiple bottles to have a really odd clumpy gelatinous consistency, reminiscent of boiled down Coca-Cola with the smell to match, that makes it rather difficult to work with. I've often wondered if the product was sold expired, but upon using up my 4th bottle, I'm inclined to believe that the product is simply formulated that way...

Only True Semi Permanent I Use
I've been bleaching and using Adore dyes for about two years now, but I used to get them from another shop. I got them here because it was more convenient, though the price is slightly higher. I've never used this on unbleached hair, so I have no idea how well it sticks or how much colour it leaves. On bleached hair, it's amazing. The colour is always super vibrant. You may not always get the colour shown on the bottle, but that's more because of the base colour of the hair your dyeing over. I get very annoyed reading reviews from people who complain the colour wasn't the same on their hair. If your hair has yellow or orange tones in it, this will make the colour more peachy than the blue toned pink! I had this happen on my hair since it wasn't bleached perfectly evenly. Some strands are peachy. Same goes for if you dye over blue. The number one reason I prefer Adore dyes over others is that I can dilute it with conditioner and still get a lot of colour out of it. One bottle lasts me over ten applications. Currently my hair is a pastel purple and pink mix because I worked out it would be cheaper to buy two bottles, one pink and one blue, to make my own purple, rather than buying one bottle of purple. So you can mix these together to get an even greater range of shades. I'm never the same colour each month! The longer you leave it in, the brighter and more longer lasting the colour will be. This is true for unbleached hair as well. You don't have to worry about damage, this is like a conditioner that stains your hair. You do have to keep it moist though, so put a shower cap or plastic bag on top. I normally leave mine in for about an hour, but because of the pastels, I've only been leaving it in for about five minutes while showering and it still deposits colour, though it rinses out quicker. The second reason I love Adore dyes is that there is pretty much zero rub off. I can dye my hair, rinse, let it dry and not leave random colours all over my pillow. I don't worry about it running in the rain. I used to use Directions Plum and the rain made that run, it was very embarrassing. All in all, I really recommend this, it lasts for ages, smells great, excellent colour payoff and a wide range of colours.

Extremely bright, easy-to-use, and only very mildly stains
This is the best yellow I've ever used! It was easy to apply, left only a barely visible stain on my hands ( I still use the gloves for most of the application, but you really don't need to), and it left the most beautiful brightest highlight marker yellow I've ever seen! It's even pretty easy to mix with other brands of colors. The yellow comes out of the bottle as clearish liquid lime green, put on yellow hair comes out as a very bright highlight yellow color. I'm pretty sure you could diluted a little to get a normal yellow. I was even able to mix it with other brands that had cream colors and Inky colors. I wanted to make a rainbow but I didn't have orange. I had a tube Wella semi-permanent cream red, but it was a pinkish red so I wasn't sure is the green tinge and the pinkish red would mix to be a decent Orange. Even though the mix itself didn't look promising, I did a test strip and it came out looking pretty good. You just got to remember that if you mix this with other colors, only put a drop or two of the other color, because this yellow gets pretty overpowered very easily. Also make sure not to let cross-contamination happen, because it is hard to get out. It even works for light brown or dark blond hair, as seen in my second example with my clip-in rainbow bangs. Those bangs were a medium dark brown, and I lightened them to a level 8, but it still came out well.

Great and affordable
As the daughter of a master cosmetologist I've been dying my hair since I was 14 (15+ years experience). I've tried them all, punky color, manic panic, artic fox, joico, splat and more. I've vetted every product through my licensed cosmetologist mother and never got any kick back due to harmful ingredients or other factors. That being said, this is my new favorite brand for fun semi permanent colors at a reasonable price. I've used it on myself and my daughter (see pictures for break down). I wanted to try several colors from this brand prior to reviewing so that it would reflect a bigger range as some colors will last longer or process differently. I wanted more of a neon green for my first color and the green apple was not dark/neon enough for me so I decided to mix a bit of emerald in to achieve the color I wanted since I did not see the exact color I wanted in the colors available. My base color was a BRASSY dark blonde and my daughters was a less brassy brighter blonde, so my original fear was the cooler color neutralizing the brass more than it showing through. The first dye (green apple) on my hair was not bad. The color was good. The first dye on my daughter's hair (emerald) did somewhat come out dull from the brassyness (did not take a picture) but after a few days, I did a second coat and it came out as pictured. Each time we dyed, I used a brush/bowl application method and let it process for 1+ hr (because I'm busy and forgetful). Here are my thoughts: Pros: didn't stain my skin an insane amount when I had accidental drippage, color lasts more than 2 weeks (4+ washes), mixes well if you want to adjust color, covers well and pretty even depending on your base and your application, affordable, large range of colors Cons: it takes a lot of washing to fade I love the range of colors to choose from and I love being able to mix them and not end up with something muddy. I also love that it is pretty long lasting compared to other popular semi permanent colors (look up dye vs dye on YouTube). The only caviot to that is if you like to change colors often, it may be harder depending on which direction you go on the color wheel or if you only want color for a short amount of time like vacation or leave from work, this may not work for you. It also did not stain my daughter's hair when we did the blue and make it a horrible shade of green that we were unable to cover. So all together, I really love this brand of dye and will continue to buy as need (a little goes a long way) but it may not suit everyone.

Must try! Vibrant beautiful colours even in dark hair
Absolutely LOVE it! Tried many brands. Most were really expensive. This one surprised me! All others I tried came out first time I washed my hair and vibrancy wasn’t great. This one. The colour is soo vibrant and hasn’t washed out at all. Mind you I used some to mix in with my conditioner to help keep the colour looking vibrant. I have used the purple and the pink. Even mixed them this time to make a magenta colour. Price is unbeatable. And it’s actually looks great and lasts. I highly recommend this product!
