Good to the very end!
This book was great! I actually read it in about 3 and a half hours. It kept moving. It wasn't too fast or too slow. It was funny, happy, sad, snarky, and romantic. Eugenie is a strong woman, and for once, she's not plain, or a little too round, nor does she have any of those other flaws Betty Neels likes to saddle her heroines with. She's a pretty girl, who's a nurse, and is just like any other young lady who cares about her family. The book was refreshing to read and I'm sad that it's over.

Good Guys Don't Finish Last in Betty Neels' Novels
Just when she was beginning to think that the right man doesn't exist for her, Eugenie falls in love when she meets Aderik on a foggy road near her family's home in the country. She had come home to take care of her ailing father. Aderik is a doctor and Eugenie is a nurse. That's a common theme in Neel's stories. The complication is that he already has fiancée. She's a beautiful, sophisticated woman. When Eugenie meets her it is evident that Saphira is only interested in the status and wealth that marriage to Aderik will bring her. What do two honorable people do when they feel irresistibly drawn to one another in this situation. Aderik can't seem to win. He feels honor-bound to keep his pledge to Saphira. How can he avoid hurting one or both women? Betty Neels' fans know that the story will end happily but the fun is how she manages to find a satisfying resolution.

One of her best
I really enjoyed the characters and plot in A Secret Infatuation. This is an easy read as there are no terrible accidents or major mistruths to return our main characters.

A great read.
I love all the old fashioned sweet romances by Betty Neels. I read them all many years ago and am now reading them for the 2nd and even 3rd times on my Kindle. She wrote them all on a formula. Usually a romance between a Dutch doctor or professor and an English young lady. There is always some type of conflict that has to be settled before the happily ever after. No violence and no sexual content.

I have been buying Betty Neels books for my mother (in her 70's) at her request, as an introduction to using a Kindle. I can say without hesitation that she loves all of these books. As she has said, "The plots may all be somewhat similar and the stories quaint, but I enjoy them immensely and find them endearing." What better recommendation could there be? And the Kindle Paperwhite? She loves the backlight and the ability to make the font larger.

Sweet story, happy valentines ending
Nice simple story of love at first sight. The usual mixups, but Betty Neels always sums things neatly up. Good, relaxing read.

This Betty Neels book was enjoyed very much
This Betty Neels book was enjoyed very much. Besides her usual settings of England and The Netherlands, the characters traveled to Madeira and Bosnia to provide medical care. I enjoy the variety of information on different countries. Thank you.
