Q: Does it work for crows ?

Don’t have a crow problem where I live. I put in my garden and so nice to see the eyes shining at night.

Q: Does this keep gophers away?

Works for woodpeckers. Do not think it will work for gophers. I use the Yard Sentinel Predator Eye to keep raccoons away. Should also work for gophers. Search Amazon for the Predator Eye.

Q: Does the On/Off button need to stay pressed in for the lights in eyes to stay on?

Answer for YOFIT Solar Bird Scarecrow Fake Horned Owl Yes, you must press the button to turn it on. I suggest that you keep the owl in the sunlight for a few hours so that the batteries get charged. Then, press the button, and cover the light sensor on the back. When you do this, you will see that the eyes light up as long as you cover the sensor. Now you know that it will light up when it gets dark. Leave that button pressed. Place your owl where it will receive sunlight, so that the solar panel can charge the battery. At night, the eyes will light up. If this does not happen, it could be that the battery inside the owl is defective. See if you an replace the battery. If that does not help, then the entire unit is very likely defective.

I have mine at the back of our yard and can see it.s eyes when it ge5s dark .
