Thank you for your question. We are glad to answer to all your concerns regarding Gua Sha  tools usage.

Our Gua Sha bian stone set includes different shapes in order to match the different parts of the body and to be comfortably held while performing the massage. All edges can be used for different scrape actions. You choose which tool to use by looking at the contours of each one, then use the one that fits best. Normally the wide edges are used for bigger surfaces such as back, arms and the narrow edges are used for pressing actions (acupuncture). For instance, for a facial massage you can use the heart shaped tool in the following way: hold at aproximately 30 degree angle and move the tool touching your face with the wide edge upward/ outward, except for the nose where you need to move downward. Keep in mind that scraping is always one direction only and the movements don’t have to go back and forth. With the pointed edges press in order to activate accupressure points.
