Fantastic price, worth every penny.
I finally convinced myself to get the full set of these as a side to my fountain pen passion. I am definitely not a calligraphy artist, but it is rewarding when you come up with something fancy...

These are great. I might get another set for holiday gift exchanges. Loser gets the blue one. From the perspective of a fountain pen nerd, these pens are fun. Yes, they're plastic and cheap feeling... because they ARE plastic and cheap. The important bit--the nibs--are great. The plate design makes for a wet but controlled flow, and you can write with the tip for a fine line. I use the red 1.5 nib the most by a long-shot; it's the only width that fits my regular writing style. The orange 2.4 gets some use, and the 3.8 is now my highilghter pen for work. The blue 6mm is about the same width as a flat-head screwdriver. I only use it to transfer ink to the other nibs for shading. Maybe if you make signs or lots of big labels it'd be fun? Ink! The red and black they come with is fine. If you want to play with shading from one colour to another, though, you're going to want more colours immediately. If you are a fountain pen nerd you can use your bottles of fountain pen ink in these. HOWEVER, you're going to need supplies. The cleaning bulb that comes with the pens isn't going to work. You need a Pilot Con-50 converter (also fits a Pilot Metro, an A++ classy intro pen, note that Con-50s are vastly overpriced on Amazon) but if you can find a regular syringe, it's easy to rinse out and reuse the plastic cartridges that come with the Parallels, and in the various Mixable Ink boxes. Transferring ink from nib to nib is really fun, so expect to burn through a lot of ink. I've accidentally muddied some cartridges by transferring a dark ink into onto a light one a little too enthusiastically, so perfectionists take care.

Returning to calligraphy after years...these pens are fantastic! The larger two use a fair bit of ink - I use the smallest most. Great quality where it counts (at the nib). I also purchased additional refills until I sort out refilling. The "blending" feature works vert well AND the little instruction book included is great for beginners and "oldies" returning to the art of calligraphy. Highly recommend!
