Great product
I needed stained glass putty to replace the missing lead came in the leaded glass picture window in my home. I didn’t want to use regular glazing putty or any product with cement (proper stained glass putty is made with linseed oil, lamp black coloring and whiting aka calcium carbonate.) This was the perfect size for my project. You need this and calcium carbonate/whitening which interacts with the putty to harden it and to clean extra putty off the glass. With proper maintenance this convex/concave leaded glass window should hopefully last another 120 years.

This lead putty works well. It strengthened my old stained glass piece, making it sturdy again.
Nice putty, works well. Strengthened my old window, lengthening its life.

Very thick but with thinning, it works well.
This was more like the consistency of Play-Doh than that of peanut butter. It is very much like the putty you would use around old timey windows. You definitely can’t use it to brush in as you would normally do on stain glass without thinning it first. So, I had to thin it using mineral spirits to get the consistency that I wanted. It then worked well and I was able to brush it in. It’s definitely not “ready to use” (as the product says) for stained glass projects without thinning it first. Probably because I thinned it it took more like 36 hours to harden enough that I could move to the next step of the project. They really don’t give you very much product for the price, but if you thin it, you can get about one and a half tubs worth. So while I was not happy that I had to spend time and effort thinning it to use on stain glass, it does work well with that caveat.

Dries Quickly
This needs to be thinned with spirits but works well, does the job and dried quickly!

Easy to use
The product was very easy to use. It was also easy to clean up with whiting powder. I received the item in a timely manner and it was well packaged.

Old and very very firm.
Definitely not "ready to use". You will need to add a lot of mineral spirits to make it flexible enough to work with. Stirring, poking, squishing spirits into this stiff mixture is no fun either. I've finally gotton it to a texture I can work with. Will update when I see how long it takes to dry.
