A beast
Well, I wasn't going to write any more reviews but this calls for an exception. Since 1981 my go-to bushcrafting knife has been a kukri of one sort or another, most recently a Condor King. And it still is, but I'll be the first to admit that it can be kind of clunky for some applications and excursions away from camp - gathering, fishing, checking traps, etc. For decades I've used literally scores of various knives as kind of a more convenient "little brother" to the big kukri. Randalls, Chris Reeves, KA-BARS, Buck Specials, and Lord knows how many others. With this, I may have found the perfect one. This knife will probably outlive me. Just picking it up from the box, you can tell this knife means business. Don't let the fact that it is produced in China turn you off, this is no cheap toy or "The Hunted" movie replica designed only to "look cool". It is a real working blade made to a quality standard; solid, thick, and nearly shaving sharp right out of the box. I would prefer a flat rather than hollow grind on a blade of this type, but I honestly can't see it being an issue. It is exactly as shown and blade-heavy, which I prefer. At this price, I can't imagine any outdoorsman (or lady) being disappointed in what they receive. It has a wide belly perfect for skinning or slicing, and the flat edge will split with ease. The "saw" (it isn't really for sawing, per se) is great for notching trap releases and feathering tinder. The stone wash of the blade provides a very custom, professional look, and the handle scales appear nearly indestructible. On a side note, my sheath did have an issue. I emailed Weyland and literally within the hour Mr. MacRae had a replacement boxed up for me with a tracking number. And this late in the afternoon before Labor Day weekend. It's hard to find customer care like this anymore, if I could give them 10 stars I would. If you don't want to lay out the cash for a Russon or a Tom Brown, pull the trigger on this knife, you can order with confidence from this company and won't regret it. Highly recommend.

Solid knife! Worth the money!
I love this knife. I mostly like the sturdiness, the color, and the amount of features. I've only had it for an evening and a morning but I've already made a baton, a pencil snare, and reduced several small trees to kindling. I like how you can comfortably grip the handle farther up for fine work or farther back for chopping. The quarter-round and draw knife work perfectly for making kindling and such. My last knife snapped, but this one sure won't! And it is HEAVY, In a good way though. It does way 1 LB! I like how it just feels so sturdy! It makes you want to chop everything in sight! The wire cutting function in the saw also works well. The baton saddle works well for striking. Now, about the sheath. The section above the button really helps hold in the knife. I like the tan of the knife handle with the leather sheath. It holds knife really well. Cons: I'm a little worried about the stitching on the belt loop and button strap, but I don't think it will come undone. And be VERY careful about the quarter round cutting the button strap. Knife cons: The tip is a tiny bit worrying, it thins down pretty quickly. And that's the only con I can think of! Over all I would definitely suggest this knife. Plus, you're supporting a small business! Thanks Weyland!!

VERY SOLID KNIFE
I'm an Avid outdoors person. For years I've always wanted a TBT, well not anymore. Weyland is my goto now !! After I purchased the knife an during shipping the owner reached out thanking me. Gave me a PDF Survival guide included with the purchase. 100 page book to download. Full of knowledge. The Weyland Company will do whatever it takes to meet satisfaction of their products !! Out of all the sellers to buy from If you want a sharp, thick blade, 11.5 in Size, big boy I call it, with a leather sheath, grab this one. It's easy to use in and out of the sheath. I read about the edge possibly cutting the tension strap. It is plausible. But you can also loop it back around backwards an hook it in the belt strap hole though. But you do it that way make sure its vertical so it won't shimmy out the sheath. All in all I'm super pleased with my order Did get it on Mothers Day too !! I will be buying more for hunting buddies and they WILL BE WEYLAND !! Thank you Weyland for standing behind your product and pleasing all the way around the map. I'm funny about allowing access to my camera or I would post pictures. But if you just go on an pull the trigger on this item you won't regret it. I assure you. If by mere fluke you get a lemon They will bend over backwards to get you straightened out so don't stress that either. Buy It !!!! Has some weight to it also. I'm not afraid to whack this joker with anything and not hurt it. It's everybit of 1/4 in thick SOLID !! Alot of Bang for your Buck !!!!

Great knife...
Knife came super sharp and balanced with more weight toward the tip of the knife. Minor downside was the sheath that it came with. Feels clunky and thick in places, fits more on the hip than on the small of the back. Over all though it is a great knife, durable, sharp, and able to do a couple different things in the field.

Superb addition to your field survival/military patrolling kit. Extremely happy with this item.
I didn't even know what a tracker knife was when I ordered this. This is an awesome tool. There is a wide range of tracker knife options with varying prices but I think that this was at the perfect price point. It is built to last a lifetime. It is capable of doing mostly all of your outdoors/bushcraft skills. From cutting wood to skinning your catch/prey. If you are trying to accumulate gear, this is at a price point that will enable you you get other things. Really, you can probably pry open a safe with this knife... very durable. Also American/USA made from what I understand. Someone I know is soon to graduate a very difficult Army course and I have already purchased a second one to give as a graduation gift. I was also in the military and spent most of my time in jobs where something like this would absolutely come in handy. This would be an awesome piece of kit in the field. I guess if I was going to try to think of one thing I think it would be cool if they would start selling a kydex type sheath. The sheath it comes with now is perfectly adequate. I still have to shop around to see if there is one that fits this specifically. But If they were to have one or two additional sheath options that would be very cool. Different color leather, different color kydex. Maybe custom symbols or emblem options... like a military unit emblem (If there was a "de oppresso liber" Cross arrowed unit symbol stamped on there, I don't think this company would be able to produce these fast enough.. I would probably buy ten more for graduates). The aesthetic, functionality and price of this knife all worth synergystically to make this an awesome product. A perfect gift for those who enjoy the outdoors, in a unit in the military that goes to the field, or as a gift to accompany someones "right of passage." Good luck! And thanks to the guys who makes this, I think you nailed it.

Great for food prep and light bushcraft work
Very solid feeling and flawless fit and finish. Blade came nice and sharp with a hollow grind throughout. The grip is the best part; you can hold the knife low on the handle to swing it like a machete or hatchet, or you can choke up higher on the handle for finer slicing and chopping work. The sheath is of decent quality being very well made but of somewhat thin leather. It makes for comfortable scout carrying and holds the knife securely. Make sure you don't accidentally slice the loose retaining strap while sheathing the knife. Overall this knife is an incredible value.

Love the knife so far
I actually like the weight of the knife. I bushcraft a wooden mallet using the knife. I did have to sharpen the blade though. I was hoping it came with a sharpening stone. I was disappointed about that. I live in Georgia were I believe the knife is made so actually that's why I purchased it. I didi review a lot of different brands before choosing this knife. I do a lot of chopping and carving so I've been really trying to put this knife to the test in my woods. When sharpened well it makes good tender for fire it chops through wood well. And that key for me the thickness of the knife really helps alot. Some knifes are very thin and don't work as well. And it's a show stopper many people ask me about the knife and compliment me on how good it looks. Some also ask what do you use a knife like this for which starts a whole different conversation. I've only had the knife a couple of weeks so far. I still have more to put it through, but so far it's and awesome knife. I'll be checking to see how the elements are going to affect the blade like rust and pitting. Also checking for nicks in the cutting edge/blade. Before i reccomend it to my students for camping and crafting.

Strong, thick and enduring
First things first, it's not a Tom brown tracker, extremely similar but not exact, that being said it is a perfectly acceptable alternative. I have decided not to be purchasing a Tom brown tracker due to the claims of it being a stolen design, and I have done research into the claims, I refuse to reward people for ill gotten gains. This o bought the Weyland version, the couyer round on the blade works well for feather sticks and the whole knife in general is a complete beast. The sheath I found to be some what lacking, while functional and nicely made, it lacks any originality, it doesn't even have a loop for a Ferro rod, for me that's a standard I look for, not for a Ferro rod mind you, but for my sharpening rod that fits perfectly in a Ferro loop. I have other knives with a farro rod on them so, yeah. I like to carry my sharpener on the sheath with the knife that way I can always maintain my edge in the bush. It splits wood down fast, I haven't skinned anything with it yet, but I have made some traps testing out the versatility of it they worked just fine, the knife is worth buying I just wished they put a Ferro loop on the sheath to carry my sharpener. That's the only down side. I think I'm going to create a custom kydex sheath for this knife so I can build a comprehensive on board survival rig to make it a true one tool option. I'll update again if I run into any problems. Buy this knife it's more than adequate if your looking for a functional tracker. Have a blessed day and thank you to Weyland for creating this beast. It's servingr well and will do so for a very long time to come.
