Casio Wave Ceptor Men's Watch WV-58DE-1AVEG

Excellent quality watch. Used it for more than a year. Time was always accurate. 1. I place it above chest of drawers and there are 2 full wooden roof levels above the level of building where I place this watch in the night and far away from window (3 meters minimum). Always gets the signal in the night. I place my watch facing up using the foam that it came with. However when I just throw my watch in to one of the drawers in the same chest of drawers when it is not facing upwards sometimes it does not get signal. But it happened only 3 times in a year. I am not sure what will be the situation under concrete roofs but will probably always get signal if placed near window in the night. 2. Switches to day light saving time automatically. 3. The glass on the watch is little tough against scratches that can happen from light rubbing and daily use, the glass is probably transparent plastic but I am not sure about this, but I am sure if scratched very hard or with very sharp object will be scratched. My watch has got only one tiny scratch which is only visible under a torch light. 3. There is a little plastic ring on the front, in which wave ceptor is etched in the bottom, the plastic has lost some nickle colour around wave ceptor writing but since the plastic itself is kind of light grey so it is still not very visible and not very serious or noticeable, this ring is very thin as compared to the rest of watch. 4. Other people have reported button being pressed unintentionally and loosing battery etc., I have not faced any such problem. 5. I was able to adjust the metal strap using tiny screw drivers but I am sure it can be adjusted by using the tip of knife, if you do not have those screw drivers, it clearly gives the direction in which to take out the metal bits from strap, but take time in doing so as sharp knife can ruin the looks of metal strap if used carelessly. 6. I am getting these signals in East of England the reception of signals will vary at different location. Its better if you can confirm the strength of signal in your location before purchase but I have absolutely no idea how.

• I have had two of these excellent watches. The battery on the first one lasted eight years and, in view of its age, I decided to replace the watch rather than renew the battery. * The watch synchronises with the atomic clock every night both at my house in the Isle of Wight and in a house I have in Spain on the Costa Blanca. I suspect it might have a problem in Portugal or the west of Spain. It failed to synchronise once when I stayed at a hotel in Bilbao. • I have never had the problem reported by others of the date resetting. • I had no difficulty removing links to fit the watch to my wrist. This is a fairly good watch that looks reasonably nice compared with most other digital watches I've seen. The watch has some difficulty synchronising with the time broadcast sometimes, but for me, this is likely due to interference from bad weather, surrounding buildings and the distance (~1100 km) between my location and the broadcast locations in Germany or the UK. Synchronising at night does definitely tend to be much more successful than during the day. Once synced, however, the watch itself is very accurate. It was within a second when comparing with the results obtained via a computer from accurate NTP servers. The display is very clear and easy to read and the back light is very good for reading in the dark. Like most metal band watches, the band has to be adjusted by someone with appropriate tools to do the job (e.g. a Jeweller/watch repairer), which is a mild inconvenience. The band itself does occasionally tend to pinch hairs on my wrist when it moves around, which can be a little irritating. Learning the functions of the watch is not the most intuitive experience at first, but the instruction manual is very clear and well written and it doesn't take long to learn the basics. Take care when using the World Time function, as it doesn't switch back to the normal time mode after any timeout. So if you forget that you put it in world time mode and have that set to a timezone close to, but not the same as your own, you could be mistaken about what time it really is. I like that this watch supports 24 hour time and switching the date fromat from MM-DD-YYYY to DD-MM-YYYY. Sadly, no ability to use YYYY-MM-DD. I also like that it correctly determines daylight savings time for the regions it supports. However, this does require synchronisation with the time broadcast to work properly when DST is set to AUTO. though it does also allow manual setting of DST mode to ON and OFF when this is not possible.

Great time keeper, this not only looks good but is an amazing watch. There is nothing to dislike about this watch. Stopwatch, calendar, alarm, illuminated screen, day, date, date can be either day or month first, 12 or 24 hour mode. Simply amazing

Didn’t last that long and battery just dead. No watch no satellite no time just died on me. Never buy from you again ever.

Bought this type as I had a very similar one which experienced battery death a few weeks ago (May 2020) after being bought in sumemr 2013. This watch arrived already "ticking" in the box, so I don't know if the battry has already suffered some depletion. Watch band is a very comfortable type, you'll need some fine tweezers (ones cheap enough to sacrifice their pointy ends in the effort) to adjust the strap if you want it shorter. Shame this is as expensive as it is, would happily by a similar one for cheaper with the real-time atomic clock updating function and backlight functions not included, but such a model doesn't exist and this sort has a very comfortable fit, an easy to set display and has from previous experience lasted a good fraction of a decade.

Après deux autres montres Casio fonctionnant toujours, j'ai changé pour celle-ci pour avoir une meilleure lecture (yeux qui "baissent"). Très bonne lecture même la nuit avec l'éclairage qui a la bonne durée par rapport aux deux autres montres. La possibilité de définir la langue d'affichage du jour et l'ordre "français" de jour puis mois apporte une lecture naturelle des informations utiles. La qualité du verre (qui doit être en plastique) reste à valider sur la durée (utilisation depuis 15 jours environ). Le principe du bracelet reste le même mais la finesse est moins bonne que pour les autres montres. Le pas de longueur est un "maillon" alors que sur les autres il y a un réglage fin par la boucle déployante de fermeture. Je finirai peut-être par reprendre la boucle à réglage fin pour remplacer celle-ci. Sinon, bonne sensation des boutons, bon poids, bonne impression de qualité générale et ajustement de l'heure automatique.

Orologio perfetto. Adatto ad ogni tipo di uso. Io l'ho preso perché faccio lavori manuali e faticosi. I cinturini in plastica tra sudore ed urti, li rompevo tutti. Questo è invece ideale. Ne avevo uno identico, l'ho rotto dopo 2 anni circa perché c'è finito sopra una blindata Se invece fate lavori normali, durerà praticamente per sempre. Uno dei pochi orologi di questo tipo ad avere sia la lingua italiana (quindi avrete LUN MAR MER, anziché MON TUE WEN)che la data GG/MM/AAAA. Non che sia una cosa fondamentale, ma dal mio punto di vista, è un punto in più. L'unica pecca che ha, è che nonostante tu disattivi l'aggiornamento automatico, ogni tanto si resetta autonomamente. Quindi se siete di quelli che tendono a mettere l'orologio un po' più avanti, c'è il rischio che all'improvviso vi troviate l'ora perfetta. NB Di solito accade di notte, quindi la cosa la noterete subito appena svegli.

Wat een fijn horloge, het draagt heel licht maar kan toch tegen een stootje. Het is duidelijk afleesbaar.Ik had weinig moeite met het instellen en daarna hoef je er niet meer aan te komen. Het inkorten van het horlogebandje kostte me 7,50€ maar dan zit het als gegoten.

Da meine alte Funkuhr von Hofer (Aldi) beim 3. Batterietausch durch zu brutale Behandlung von mir den Geist aufgegeben hat, habe mir nun diese Uhr von Casio gekauft. Sie hat die üblichen Standard-Funktionen wie Timer, Stoppuhr mit Zwischenstopp, Weltzeitenumschaltung, Wecker, Tag und Datum können Deutsch dargestellt werden, sie ist auf 50m wasserdicht (reicht jedenfalls zum Schwimmen und Schnorcheln, auch wenn sie schon älter ist), und der Funkempfang ist sehr gut. Negativ: - Da ich schon älter bin und Tinitus habe, höre ich den hohen Piepston nur sehr schlecht (dafür ist der Batterieverbrauch geringer) - die Uhr könnte kleiner und flacher sein, habe aber um diesen Preis keine andere Funkuhr gefunden Diese negativen Punkte möchte aber ich nicht der Uhr anlasten, sie sollen nur zur Information für andere dienen. Positiv: Trotz Metallgehäuse kühlt sie mein Handgelenk bei tieferen Außentemperaturen nicht ab (es war aber nie kälter als -2°C), das ist für mich sehr wichtig, da ich sonst Schmerzen im Handgelenk bekomme.

Tiene todo lo que le pido a un reloj, destaca que se sincroniza la hora por radio y además con varias emisoras repartidas por el mundo. Su diseño es bonito y funcional. Tanto me encanta que es mi segundo reloj Casio Wave Ceptor, el primero, de forma rectangular, lo he dejado de usar porque a veces se resetea y vuelve al 01-01-2005, pero esto ha empezado a pasar al cabo de bastantes años de servicio.
