Spare Wheel Tire Kit fits Tesla Model Y (2020-2026) + Juniper

Nice quality tire for model y

I was on a long road trip from New Jersey to Indiana and back. I purchased this spare tire kit for my Model Y, so I'd be able to manage if I got a flat. I love my Tesla, and I understand why they don't provide a spare tire, but I always feel better if I have a spare. It does consume space in the rear hatch, as it does not fit in the cargo space under the floor area. I consider that a small trade-off for the peace of mind of having a spare. On my way back home, I hit a huge pothole in a road construction area in Kentucky. It immediately blew out the front driver side and actually tore the aluminum wheel. The rear driver side tire also had a slow leak, and a bent wheel. I was stuck on the side of an exit ramp, in a bad spot, where it would have been very difficult for a wrecker to flatbed my car to Tesla service. I was able to change the front tire with this spare, and then inflate the rear long enough to limp my model Y to the nearest parking lot. There I called Tesla service, and the wrecker came and took us to Tesla service. Havng this spare with me was a godsend for me and my wife. Money well spent! Highly, HIGHLY recommend this product. It works, and got me out of a jam.

When I purchased this item it was less than $250 and I had concerns that it would be kind of cheap materials. But the tire seems fine for a spare and the scissor jack and wrench seem better than adequate. Did some light testing of the jack and wrench and everything worked great. Did not try using the spare as we did not need it during a road trip from WI to Texas. It was great peace of mind knowing we could use it if needed. Maybe the $500 spare tire kit is a little better but I don't see how it could be that much better to justify spending that much money. One very minor gripe. The tire and tools were packed in a box with no padding. During shipping the box was damaged where the scissor jack was located in the packaging. This resulted in small tears in the scissor jack bag and the spare tire bag. A little more padding would have been nice to prevent this. But for the price savings this is incredibly minor. Definitely recommend this spare tire kit at the $250 price.

My order was delivered in less than a week. Upon close inspection, the tire and the included kit looks nice and study. The tire and the kit weigh less than 30 lbs and fit nicely inside a zippered nylon bag with 2 carrying handles. Everything is included in the kit as the description says on Amazon. I selected this brand over the Modern Spare for the lower cost. I haven’t used my new spare tire yet and I hope it will save me the day when I need to use it.

I was able to get this to fit in my 2026 Model Y subtrunk area by removing the subtrunk tub. (Easy to remove with only a flat head screwdriver). It’s a very tight fit, but that keeps it in place too. See pictures of final fit. The tire itself is a beefy little small spare. I have not had to use it yet, but it is the same height as my model y tires so should work well enough. The jack and tools it comes with are built better than I was expecting. I’ve gotten much worse with previous vehicles and they worked It sucks to give up the sub-trunk space, but it’s better than always having spare taking up space in the rear storage area, or worse, leaving the tire in my garage and having a blowout without it in the car!

For Tesla model Y some of the reviews talk about this fitting in the sub trunk. This does not fit in the sub trunk. It doesn’t come remotely close to fitting. It’s big. Measure your existing wheel and tire…that’s how much trunk space this spare will consume.

Lo probé en el carro y ajusta bien. No lo probé en distancias largas pero considero que funciona correctamente. Lo recomiendo
