Nice product, but you can't use it in the UK
I love the Cuisinart blender we have in the USA, which is why I ordered this one (at 3 times the price) for use in the UK. But what came was a standard US blender, that requires a 120v 60Hz power supply. It even came with a US plug, which at least saved me from plugging it in and blowing it up.

I have a food processor which is great to use for all things blending, mixing, grinding, etc. But I've realized that it is sometimes a chore to have to lug out that 10-15 lb behemoth every time I want to mix up a few things or make a smoothie for the wife. So I decided to buy this hand blender while it was on sale and I'm really glad I did. Pros: - Easy to clean: I usually detach the blender portion and have it soaking in some water as I either finish up what I was making or eat. Then when I am ready to wash I'll attach it back into the power portion and run it in some soapy water, voila! All clean. - Lightweight: Fairly small and when broken apart it can fit in any cabinet or drawer. - Easy to hold: I've read a fair amount of reviews that complain about the placement of the safety switch on top. I usually start the blender firmly inside whatever I am going to blend, then I'll hold the blender with my right hand (finger on whichever speed I want to use) and with the other hand hit the safety button. Once the blender is going (you have to keep your finger pressed down on the speed) you can keep it going without pushing the safety button again. It isn't very difficult once you get the hang of it and I haven't made a mess in the kitchen yet (includes blending whole tomatoes right in the can). - Efficient blending/grinding: So far I've blended smoothies (frozen strawberries, banana, milk), whole tomatoes in the can into a puree, homemade mayo (within 10 sec), and a mixture for my chili base. The chili base I wasn't sure if it was going to work because I placed the following inside of the cup that came with the blender: ripped up pieces of dried ancho, California, and Arbol chili peppers, anchovie filets, chunks of chocolate, whole star anise, whole cloves, and tomato paste/soy sauce/marmite/chicken broth. After a few seconds though, I could tell that it worked perfectly. There were a few pieces of chili at the end, but nothing that caused any problems. I was pretty pleased with the result. Cons: - None so far, but I'll update later if I run into any. I know another complaint was the length of the power cord, but I honestly think it is pretty decent length. Compared to fryers, electric skillets, and other appliances this hand blender has a very generous power cord. I'd definitely buy again in a heartbeat. Especially at such a low price.

I made potato soup for my first use and it turned my soup into a nice thick soup with no fiber left Took about 20 seconds. I was surprised on how fast it worked and I had no spillage or soup flying. No mess at all and it takes like 20 seconds to clean it. Just press the button and the shaft comes off and is ready to be rinsed under the sink. There is a button at the top to press for a second and then one presses one of the power buttons to activate the blender. One can then release the top button. I think its a set up to make it child safe Also the shield around the blade also prevents one from accidentally cutting one self with the sharp blade. One can push it all the way down to the bottom of the pan, and the blade will not touch the pan as its recessed inside the shield.

I love this product! I had read about hand blenders and loved the versatility and ease of use. So I did some reasearch (carefully going over reviews). So here are some features that made me choose this particular one and why I love it: - Use: So versatile to make to make many different things. What I've made so far: my hair smoothie concoctions, pureed meat sauces, guacamole, . Looking forward to making stews in a pot. If you search youtube, you'll find so many recipes. - Ease of cleaning: so there were complaints on other versions about cleaning. I find this very easy to clean by washing it soon after I use it and rinsing with hot water. It is hard to reach with a sponge behind the blades as there is limited space but if you wash it soon after, it should be relatively easy. - Design/Ease of use: Two options for speed, easy to hold in your hand and use. Rather tall, I just leave it on the counter. I guess you could separate it into two pieces (as the lower segment is detachable) and store it in the drawer. The cord could be wrapped around the body. Also comes with a measuring cup that you could blend your ingredients in as well. All in all, I love my immersion blender and would definitely recommend it. P.S. The papaya is a great color!

Awesome product and I love the color. I use this item to puree things. It's easy to clean and it blends and purees nicely. It's not as smooth as a top notch blender but it's pretty close which is good enough for my needs. If I needs per smooth, I use this blender for s long time, then pass the stuff through a fine-mesh strainer. My other Cuisinart smart stick lasted for about 8 years, that's pretty good. It's a great product and I'll always have one on hand.
