The Prosperous Coach: Increase Income and Impact for You and Your Clients: 1 (The Prosperous Series)

As a career coach, I have read a fair few books targeted at coaches and this is waaaaayyyyy up there with my favourites. Rich and Steve take a refreshingly different approach to most people who support coaches and my copy of this book is filled with yellow highlighter markings and notes - because the content is just that rich and worth executing. My coaching biz is part time around employed work at the moment and I love that Rich and Steve speak to that. I've read The Prosperous Coach three times or so and implement something new each time which moves me forward - and I will continue to keep doing so. I'm often a book sharer but this one is not one that will leave my library. If you are considering coaching or are a coach (full time or part time)... do yourself a favour and get your own copy today! I really do highly recommend it. Thank you Rich and Steve.

In a fully connected world, the authors remind us that as coaches we only need to connect with one client at a time. They dispel the notion of big marketing, internet lists etc and suggest that making deep personal 1-2-1 connections is the best way to build a sustainable and profitable coaching business. This seems to fly in the face of lots of other current 'wisdom' and coaching experts. It does however, make complete sense to me and I suspect many of those who read the book. Coaching, they remind the reader is a deep transformational process and not superficial or casual. Coaches add tremendous value and their impact goes well beyond the face to face time with a client, and they should charge accordingly. This book will introduce the reader to the true value of their coaching and expose how they may have been underselling themselves. The book provides a reference point from which to compare and contrast other points of view about how to build a coaching business. If you're a professional coach or want to coach, it's a must read.

I heard about your book a few months ago from a friend, I was curious but not immediately compelled to buy it. Then I took the plunge literally 2 days ago, to start coaching one to one (I've held back due to fear for too long) and I sent an email to my email list offering coaching sessions. To my surprise, I got 3 potential clients say yes, and another 3 top coaches offering me coaching for my coaching! One of them said that I must read this book, and I did, in two sittings, and my view of coaching has transformed dramatically. The chapters are beautiful short and easy to digest and really speak to all of my misconceptions about coaching. I too thought that I had to be like someone else to be successful, so it's such a relief to be myself and authentic as a coach. Watch this space... :-)

This is a very good book for newish coaches. Having already wasted weeks and months trying to generate traffic via website, funnels, landing pages and LinkedIn blogging, I was rather hoping for more actual nitty gritty on how to actually create new clients from scratch in the first place, without all the usual marketing tactics and gimmicks.

good read easy to understand and very useful

I’ve just finished reading The Prosperous Coach, it’s the only business book I’ve actually read cover to cover and I’ve absolutely loved every minute of it. It is PACKED with incredible insights and information I haven't seen or heard anywhere else. I've taken so many incredible nuggets of wisdom from this book, and I know it will remain on my desk as a reference text for the rest of my coaching career. I'll now be quietly implementing what I've read, slow everything down, give powerful coaching experiences, make bold offers, and gently build my coaching practice one dream client at a time. I've already recommended this book to every coach I speak to, and if you are a coach either struggling to gain consistency, or are already a master coach, this book will unlock a deeper level. I am already a better coach for having read it. Thank you so much to Rich and Steve for being so fearlessly generous with their time, experience and wisdom.

Dear Coach This is A philosophy completely based on ACTION, ACTION and more ACTION. I like the idea of being a blue collar person and logging in and out. Logging out shows you are wasting time and not having a powerful conversation. I love games and there are good ones to keep you busy and working. Hidden in the 'sharp talk' are gems of spirituality - words like serve are used but my favourite is the truth of: in silence you find the space to be creative. Prosperous coach, like all good reads needs to be ready daily not for Information but action. It sits with my Bhagvad Gita - which has a bias to action too. Not quite what I was hoping for. Some parts are interesting and relevant but I do not share some of the vues of the author. I do for instance think that even if the approach focuses on the "experience" that you are offering your potential client as a way to show your value, I wouldn't completely neglect websites and social media. They are still a very helpful way to communicate your vision. It depends on your style I guess.

Oh! This book is life changing

Je ne fais que surligner et prendre des notes, les conseils et directives de ce livres sont d'une valeur inestimable. Il s'adresse aux personnes souhaitant être coachs, aux coachs débutants, aux coachs confirmés et même aux coachs experts. Vous n'aurez pas forcément besoin d'un site internet, une chaine youtube ou de ebooks...Steve et Rich vous apprendront à être un "fearless coach" (je vous laisse chercher la traduction pour les non anglophones), à se créer ses propres clients et à proposer des coachings profonds et extrêmement puissant. Grâce à se livre, j'ai décroché mes premiers clients. Lisez ce livre, bravez vos peurs, foncez, prenez des gifles, recommencez, et coachez comme jamais.

There are a LOT of useable ideas with a VERY strong no BS type of approach! AMAZING! Thank you Rich!

I'm still reading this book and fininding it enjoyable and with a reasonable amount of useful tips. My main gripe however is the quality of the actual book- it's a disgrace. It's of the lowest quality and finding it hard not to be ditsracted by the print from the next page coming through the cheap paper. It reminds me of the photocopied books street sellers in Vietnam sell the tourist. I find it ironic that a book that focues on creating wealth and abundance is presented in such a cheap and nasty way!

I GAVE A 5 STAR RATE BECAUSE IT delivers what the title clearly states: A coach that can transform himself into a prosperous one. It tells you in a very casual way, as if you were chatting with the authors and at the same time there are some parts of the book that literally made me take a leap of faith a sensation that I was in a profound, transforming and meaningful conversation with them. By reading the title it seems that is written to coaches, nonetheless, anybody with a medium knowledge of what is a life coach will benefit from it. One of the reason I found this book fascinating is that when I was at Michael Neill Supercoach Academy last year, and been a Neurologist I was lost the first 2 months because I was told that Transformative Coaching did not have a specific method, no specific way to do it, and I was in real shock. In Neurology if you do not have a routine or method, you are going to kill or badly harm a patient. Ah... But here I found a method what to do to become a total failure and also what to withhold and how to say the right thing at the right moment and at the right time. I love both authors being honest about making mistakes, not only at the beginning of their careers but also currently!!!!!!. (Sorry rich I have to put this in capital letters) THEIR HONESTY, THEIR WISDOM AND LACK OF COCKINESS, STRUCK ME. ON THE OTHER HAND THE FACT OF BEING ACCOUNTABLE:IN OTHER WORDS: HAVING A COACH IS INDISPENSABLE TO SOAR, GLIDE, SHIFT AND FLY AS I WHISH. IN ORDER TO BE A GREAT COACH YOU NEED TO TAKE YOUR CLIENT AS DEEP AS YOU CAN BUT FIRST YOU HAVE TO BE AND BREATH VERY DEEP, FEELING COMFORTABLE BY FEELING UNCONFORTABLE (THEIR WORDS NOT MINE) YOU CAN NOT GO VERY DEEP ALONE...THAT IS COCKINESS...AT LEAST I NEED GUIDANCE AND BE ACCOUNTABLE...NOW I FEEL DEEP INSIDE MY CHEST WHAT A REAL COACH IS. I emphasize on the capital letters because that was the first thing that Rich asked me not to do and secondly, I never thought of having a coach. Now I realize that not having one is the easiest way to lie to myself and what is worse....believe the lie. I am coaching, coaching and having many NO but I always take that NO as a piece of information not rejection, I ask, "Would you mind what part of what I said or did not say made you to decide NO? and is there a way we can arrange this...Many times I get a second NO...Better this client does not want to become a better person or wealthy etc.. This book has changed my life, 180 degrees, it has being an eye and mind opener. I have in my room and on my office several printed quotes from the book but the one that is in triplicate is "YOUR CLIENTS ARE PAYING FOR THEY DREAMS. AND THEIR DREAMS ARE PRICELESS," My mission and I now know why its fun to be told NO is to dive deep enough that I can create a space where my client will make his/her dreams possible, NOW I AM A REAL COACH, STARTING BUT I FEEL THAT I KNOW IN MY HEART WHAT TO SAY, VERY LITTLE, BECASUSE LISTENING IS THE KEY I recommend this book without hesitation to any coach who wants to earn money and serve and move out of the way and let the real you take over your life Ariel Martinez MD
