Far more affordable than competitors, makes sheet goods easy to cut
I got into woodworking as a retiree and build lots of things with sheet goods. It's difficult and dangerous to try to use a table saw to cut a 4 by 8 sheet of veneered plywood or laminated mdf and panel saws are prohibitively expensive. The track system allows precision cuts on sheet goods with minimal setup. I guess the more expensive brands can't get copyright protection for the design, which is lucky for us, because this track system is just as good and much less expensive. If I had any criticism, it would be the lack of emphasis on making sure the circular saw is parallel to the track. The included blade spacer helps position the blade but if you are not parallel, you are cutting an unnecessarily wide kerf and straining the motor of your tool, in my case a cordless Ryobi 7 inch saw. There are a few you tube videos on how to align the tool with the tool base provided to get parallel. A tip: you can buy a 4 by 8 sheet of rigid foam insulation as a sacrificial cutting surface, keeping the depth of the blade at no greater than 1/8 beyond your stock.

I LOVE THIS TRACK KIT!
I bought the Milescraft Track saw kit and extension kit because I was so frustrated with trying to cut long pieces of plywood with another brand of rip cut kit. The Milescraft kit is awesome! Absolutely no need to spend $800 on the kits that come with a special track saw. I have used the Milescraft kit several times this week and it makes perfectly straight cuts quick and easy, every time. I highly recommend it for anyone. I’m a 63 year old retired female, just getting into woodworking. I put a big 4x8 2” thick sheet of styrofoam insulation on top of my workbench then place the plywood on top, mark my line and place the track on top of the plywood and clamp it down. This way I don’t need anyone to hold the piece I’m going to cut off. It works fantastic! It’s very easy to put together and attaching your saw to the track saw guide is also easy to do. It helped me to watch a few YouTube videos while attaching the circular saw. I don’t usually write reviews, but this track saw kit is all “pro’s” and no “cons”.

Great product
An absolutely great product. I don't have the money for a track saw. This is just as good and accurate. The only real difference that I see is dust collection. If you are on a budget or need a back-up. This with the main part of the kit is an absolute must have.

Works Perfectly with my Existing Rigid Saw
I have wanted a track saw for some time. However I did not want to want to buy a new saw and track. I have a 7.25" Ridgid saw and really like it. So I saw a review on youtube and decided to get the track and added the extensions to cut up to 8 foot long plywood. The total was about $180.00. It was easy to install the saw in the carrier and I trimmed the red plastic splinter guard. So far so good. Yesterday I got some rough sawed lumber that was 12 feet long. So I cut it into two 6 foot pieces to more easily store it. I used a single track and it cut perfectly. The clamps held the track in place and it was so easy. The only issue I foresee is the saw is held in the carrier and if you want to remove it for freehand sawing it would have to be reassembled and calibrated with the supplied spacer. So far that has not been a problem and using it with a single piece of track was very easy. Overall I am very pleased with the performance. My main purpose is to cut down 4x8 sheets of plywood. I use a 1" piece of foam insulation and lay that on the floor and cut the pieces into manageable pieces to finish cutting on my table saw. It is very dangerous to try and handle 4x8 pieces of plywood on the tablesaw by myself. I have had a plywood shooting board for years but sometimes you can get off track so t he track saw is the answer to avoid that. Not sure if they have a router base to go on the track system but that would also be nice. A friend has the Makita and I have used that so I think the two are comparable and you dont have to have a Makita saw and just use what you have. That makes the price very law compared to the complete systems of Makita, Festool, Dewalt and others. I looked at the cheap versions but again you had to buy a new saw and track which is much more than the Milescraft system.

Keep On Extending
Nice rail extensions for the original Milescraft track system. Extends so you can rip a full sheet of plywood length ways. Very nice addition.

Must purchase extra tracks to cut an 8" legnth.
This product worked good. It was exactly as advertised, and I was able to avoid purchasing a track saw. Since I only need to cut plywood occasionally, so this was a relatively low investment to replace an expensive alternative.I do wish they had an option to purchase the track links that bind the sections together separately. I would have just purchased two complete units rather than the expansion kit (which is needed to cut an 8' lengths). The expansion tracks were only $20 less. I really don't like there marketing tactic to make you buy the expansion tracks to cut an 8' length. That is just a cheap shot at us consumers - which we all see through.

Work well.
These work nice and allow for a straight cut. put several together to be able to cut 12 feet.

track saw system on a budget, without budget results
the Milescraft track system is one of the best woodworking purchases I've ever made. These extensions let me rip down 8 feet of stuff without going to the table saw, and they produce repeatable, accurate results. The adjustable saw sled allows you to pop in just about any standard circular saw (I'm using a DeWalt 24v) so you don't need some special track saw. You don't have the ease of the plunge cut like a Festool or something, but you're rarely using this to do that anyway. For long rips, and quick cross-cuts, I find myself, more and more, reaching for a chunk of track and the saw I leave in the Milescraft sled, rather than go set up my table saw.For a fraction of the cost of the german one, this is a deal and a half.

It works well
This is a very good product. I am very happy with the product. It cuts along the line well. The trick is keep your track free from saw dustUse a Vac or blow the dust away.
