Works perfectly! I am very happy with my Anova Sous Vide Cooker.
I am very impressed with the Anova Sous Vide Cooker 3.0. Meat comes out tender and juicy, especially chicken breast. I like that you can put meat in a vacuum sealed bag, then into a water bath and that's it, go about whatever else you want to do. When cooked, take it out of the water, and dry it off well with a paper towel. Give a quick sear on both sides and you are done. I have not installed the app. Personally I see no need to. The cooker is very easy to use. Fill up your container with water, attach the sous vide cooker, plug it in, press the temperature button, then the + or - button until you reach the desired temperature. Press the temp. button again to save setting. Next press the on button. Once it gets heated to the temperature you have chosen, put in your sealed bag, wait for the temperature to come back up, then set your timer, Press timer, then + or - button until you reach the desired time, then press the time button again to save your setting. Make sure the meat is completely under the water and not lying flat on the bottom. I bought the Everie Sous Vide 12 Qt. container with hinged lid, rack and container sleeve, which makes cooking even easier. I just set the bottom of the bag into the rack and drape the top of the bag over the edge of the container and close the lid. The lid holds the bag in place, and the rack keeps it from laying on the bottom of the container. If you are looking for a good sous vide cookbook, I recommend Sous Vide for Everyone by America's Test Kitchen. I bought 3 Sous Vide cookbooks, and this was much better than the others. The temperature charts are very helpful, and I think are more accurate and safer than in other cookbooks. You can also go online and find recipes on Anova's website, for free. I did buy a case to put my sous vide cooker in. The case is a sturdy case, but you have to take the clamp off the cooker and put it in a separate compartment. I have since seen cases that allow for the clamp to stay on the machine. My advice is to go with that stye case. I think it would be less wear and tear on the clamp screw. The screw is the only part of the machine that I worry about, the screw that tightens the clamp to the cooker. It doesn't appear to be very strong. They should have used a stainless-steel screw. Other than that, I am very happy with my sous vide cooker. I use it several times a week! I would recommend the Anova Sous Vide cooker. It's a very nice machine.

Everything worked perfectly.
I have owned a few sous vide over the years. I really love how magical they are at making perfect steaks and roast beef with even the most economical cuts. I liked the following features of this particular model: 1. It is very easy to program using their free app. I did not have a problem with losing signal when I wandered around the house like others have reported. I like that I could follow its cooking time and water temp on my smartphone. 2. The clamp that holds the sous vide to the water container is easily removable from the sous vide. The one I had previously had a spring loaded clamp but eventually it cracked off the sous vide and I had to throw it away. It had a screw that holds the clamp to the pot and another that holds the sou vide securely. It is easily removed. 3. I liked that it can be disassembled for easy cleaning. 4. It has a highly accurate thermostat from what I could tell. At least the medium rare roast beef I cooked was perfectly medium rare throughout. It gives readings to 1/10 degree F. For those who aren't all that familiar with sous vide cooking, many restaurants use them to get perfect, slow cooked meals, especially meats done to perfection. And you don't need to be hovering around the oven to make sure it doesn't overcook. If you're busy and can't get to it for 30 minutes, it's still a good. I once cooked a eye of chuck, a tasty but chewy cut of beef to medium rare for several hours to give it time to essentially "tenderize," then used it for Beef Wellington and it was as delicious! It came out as tender as tenderloin at 1/3 the cost! There really couldn't be an easier way to cook a fancy perfectly cooked meal than with this "set it and forget it" device.

A delightful upgrade to those tired of app-controlled sous vide devices
We got this sous vide unit to replace one that still works just fine, but was amazingly obnoxious to use. If you are in the same situation we were (and you'll know from the below), don't even think twice... BUY IT. Are you struggling with any of the following? 1. You must use an app to made the sous vide unit work 2. The app for the sous vide has a 50/50 chance AT BEST of actually connecting to the sous vide 3. The app makes it difficult (not impossible, but annoyingly difficult) to just turn the damn thing on and set a temperature 4. App loses connection to the sous vide unit pretty much immediately, and laughs at you if you try and reconnect (but it will still run, so as long as you didn't have a timer going it's fine) 5. You're tired of being shilled paid upgrades to an appliance you already own 6. You don't understand why you can't just have buttons on your sous vide If even one of those items above is bugging you, BUY THIS SOUS VIDE. Oh my god, words cannot adequately describe how much of a quality-of-life upgrade this has been. I press a button to turn on, set my temperature, and go. IT JUST WORKS. The unit beeps when it hits temperature. I have not even installed the companion app and have ZERO plans to do so. Set temperature is dead on when compared to my calibrated thermometer. We used it three times the first week we got it, it was so pleasant to use compared to our other unit. Only negatives (sort of) are that it requires a higher water level than needed for The White Unit, and the sound is a bit louder than the first gen White Unit. I don't find the sound obnoxious (it's a whirring noise about on part with an older water fountain), but my husband has found it more noticeable. We did not ever use the magnet function of the White Unit, so I cannot speak about how that compares.

Love, Love, Love
This is my first sous vide machine, and so far Iโm very satisfied with it. Iโve been getting the perfect medium-rare steaks, and the chicken comes out tender, juicy, and โbouncy.โ Itโs not loud and heats up fairly quickly. I also like the app. I mainly use it to set the time and temperature, and no subscription is needed for that. You donโt even need the app to operate the machine; itโs just convenient. Iโve only had it for less than a month and used it a few times, so I canโt really comment on long-term durability yet. I do wish there were a storage bag/container available for it.. Even if it's sold separately (is there?). I paired it with the Everie container, which works great just had cover the gap on the lid. Overall, Iโm happy with my purchase so far.

EXASPERATED, DISAPPOINTED, RETURNING
I am not a difficult person to please, but this is easily the most disappointed I have been in product in a very long time. There have been many occasions over the years when I wished I had a sous vide cooker, but it never felt like a necessity. Recently, I decided to treat myself, and was excited about adding one to my kitchen. After spending many hours researching options to ensure the right choice, I selected the Anova Precision Cooker 3.0 because of the brandโs reputation, its higher power compared to alternatives, advertised Wi-Fi capability with remote monitoring and control, and a price point I was willing to meet to get these features from a known brand. Based on that research, it appeared to be a safe, well-regarded choice. I ordered it from Amazon earlier this week, it arrived two days ago, and today it was unpacked for its first use. This is where my experience went off the rails. Using the Wi-Fi features requires installing the Anova app on your phone. Upon opening the app for the first time, a subscription prompt immediately appeared, offering access to recipes, cooking guides, and tutorials for a monthly or annual fee. Those extras were of no interest, so I declined the subscription. What followed was nearly an hour spent attempting to pair the cooker with the app. The only setup guidance provided is to install the app and follow the prompts. One of the first steps is to confirm a code displayed in the app matches one displayed on the cooker. The codes did match, but pressing the confirmation button resulted in nothing happening. The app remained stuck on the same screen. A troubleshooting button in the app provided no guidance relevant to this issue. A Google search led to suggestions to perform a factory reset on the device, uninstall and reinstall the app, and try again. All of that was done โ twice โ with the same result. Further searching led to the Anova website, where there is extensive marketing copy but very little practical help or support. The most useful information came from user forums, where a consistent theme emerged: many core features โ including remote monitoring and control via Wi-Fi โ require a paid subscription. Crucially, this requirement is not disclosed in the Amazon product listing nor on Anovaโs own product page. In all of the pre-purchase research done beforehand, there was no indication that an ongoing paid subscription would be necessary to use the very features that made this model appealing in the first place. That reality only became apparent after the purchase, while searching for help. This is utterly deceptive. If one must pay an ongoing fee to use the features of a product โ particularly the features that drove the purchasing decision โ then one does not truly own that product. An honest and reputable company would clearly disclose such a requirement upfront. Anova, it would seem, deliberately conceals this critical detail, presumably in hopes of compelling customers who have already paid approximately $140 (when viable options exist for far less) to continue paying an additional $10โ$24 per year indefinitely. Had the subscription requirement been clearly disclosed, I almost certainly would have chosen a different product, as most consumers likely would. That may well lead to lower sales, but a company who respects its customers would be transparent about this. One that prioritizes sales over respect for its customers will choose a different strategy: Entice the customer into purchasing the product first, then wait until theyโre trying to make dinner with it the first time to tell them itโll cost them only $2 per month or $10 per year to use it the way they were expecting, the way you told them they could. This deception is unacceptable. Charging a premium price for hardware while quietly placing key, advertised functionality behind a recurring paywall is despicable. It reflects very poorly on a company and destroys trust. This Anova Precision Cooker 3.0 is being returned immediately, and the Anova name on any product will be an automatic disqualifier in all of my future purchasing decisions.

Do One Thing Well
After spending some time searching reviews, I decided on the Anova. I like that it's simple and you do NOT have to use an app to operate it. I mean all you need to do is set the temperature and turn it on. Yes, there is a timer function but the nature of sous vide cooking is set it and let it go. Most time the cook length is several hours and doesn't require much in the way of precision. I've had this about a year now, but have only used it 4 - 5 times. It cooks a mean steak, but who can afford them any more. I used on a picnic ham to get it to temperature then used the broiler to sear it and bake on the glaze. I was able to start it early in the morning and let it go for several hours so I wasn't sweating the timing between it being done and people arriving. The unit seems to be well made and sturdy, and holds the temperature steady. I start off with hot water from the tap, so I can't comment on how long it takes to get cold water up to temperature, but generally it doesn't take long for it to make up the last few degrees.

Good quality. Subscription is obnoxious.
Seems to hold temps well. Itโs great quality. Connection is excellent and solid. The tri tip I made disappeared before it hit the cutting board so it was family approved. The turkey breast wasnโt life altering. It was just really good. 2x the cooking time good? No. We have made 3 batches of crรจme brรปlรฉe and I just made some cheesecakes but I havenโt tried one yet. Crรจme Brรปlรฉe is 10/10. Iโm finding the cook times to be very off on the recipe keeper. Obviously there are a lot of factors but the single boneless Turkey breast took nearly twice as long as the recipe called for (which called for 2 Turkey breasts bound together no less) to get to 145 degrees. I am using a meater pro in tandem and if I had followed the instructions and pulled it at 2.5 hours, I would have had raw turkey. Definitely a worthy tool to elevate your food and make great easy custards but it isnโt going to replace anything in my kitchen. Be aware the app costs money and they hit you up immediately. Little disappointing to spend $250 and then get a โoh, you want to use it? Thereโs a subscription for thatโฆโ. Thatโs the -1 star. I get it, apps cost moneyโฆ.but it felt very forced.

THIS IS A US Version. Does NOT work with UK Voltage.
Nowhere in this listing does it state that this is a US voltage product. Very poor! Returning for a refund.
