just what I wanted
a great gift for history buffs or any one living in Highland Park with an interest in its historymy grandparents lived in Highland Park right off the boat from Austria. My mom was born in Highland Park. Growing up we spent many weekends visiting gramma and walking to the beach from her house.

One of a series...
As a longtime resident of Highland Park, I was interested in Julia Johanas’ book, “Highland Park: Settlement to the 1920’s, a part of the “Imaged of America” series. I found some errors in the text, for instance, corner locations of streets which ran parallel and Wallis, the Dutchess of Windsor’s first name being listed as “Betsy”, rather than the real “Bessie”. These were not the normal typos found in the text of a Kindle version, but rather errors of fact. The book was a good try on the part of the author and and included many pictures of both buildings and early settlers. I just wish the author had included maps that showed where houses and buildings were located. There s one map ncluded but it’s more of the plat of the town. Luckily I’m a good with maps in my mind and was able to locate these sites. I think if you’re looking for a decent overview of Highland Park, this would be an okay book to download.
