Supplemental Nursing System (SNS) | Specialty Nursing Device for Breastfeeding or Chestfeeding

Used for just over a month now and the product itself is great. A couple prior reviews mention that it easily breaks but it seems quite well made to me. It is a bit difficult to get the hang of using, but that is not a product issue and more is a user error issue. Definitely suggest consulting with a lactation specialist for tips on use.

This product needs a major redesign. I decided to buy even with several negative reviews. This product is terrible. Please consider buying a different brand SNS. My first system broke within two weeks of use. It also came missing the cap on the air valve. This causes expensive formula or valuable breast milk to leak constantly. If you do not screw on the lid exactly right it will also leak milk. When I say leak, I mean, the milk is actually pouring out. I decided to give it another chance, the second SNS I purchased also came missing the air valve cap. I reached out to Medela directly. After being ran around, the extremely unhelpful, customer service said they will be sending two new systems however they are on backorder. Here’s hoping they actually included all the parts this time however, it seems like a very common manufacturing mistake. Medela, do better.

The clip system is not particularly functional and the piece the tubing screws into cracked and made it impossible to continue using. I appreciate the attempt to make an SNS easy to use but I prefer the feeding tunes attached to a strategically placed bottle instead

My baby had spent her first week in the NICU and got used to bottle. She wouldn’t latch on my breast and I was totally hopeless about breastfeeding her. This product worked like a miracle and helped my baby develop skill of latching on nipples and at the same time stimulate milk production through her suction. I highly recommend this product! Update: I should add that I just used the syringe and the bottle didn’t seem to be doing what it was supposed to do. Still I believe that this product helped with keeping the baby on breast, but perhaps it was not as helpful with them fully develop latching skills.

Easy to use. Easy to clean. Not leaking. The bottle can be used separately. I put 4 starts only because it pricey

The system became defective after only a couple days use. It leaks from the twist lock and the tubing is incredibly hard to get baby to latch onto. I am appalled by how expensive this system is for how poor quality it is, especially given the importance of a device like this to keep babies fed and healthy. I’ll be returning due to defects.

As a new mother struggling with her milk supply I was recommended to buy this device per my lactation consultant. Not only is this ridiculously over priced, poor design, and poor quality--taking advantage of people who need to supplement with formula. It leaks all the time and it also got a hole in the line within the first two weeks of using it. The line is also very short compared to their one time use SNS. I expected more from the brand medela.

My preemie wouldn't latch right away to a bare breast and I was sure that was the route that was best. As my milk was coming in I was able to supplement donor milk as if it were coming from my breast so we could still stick to EBF. It worked like a charm with a nipple guard! Cleaning isn't the most simple due to little parts. The cost for my end goal was more than reasonable. Once you got the hang of where the tube went comfortably, it was easy to use.

I used this after my baby was born to help supplement and increase her weight while still breastfeeding. I think this is a great product but has its flaws. I wish the graduations were also printed for when the bottle is upside down. That way you can see how much baby is taking while feeding. As well, the silicone tube is great, nice and soft for baby’s mouth but it is hard to clean well.

I'm definitely not a fan of this product for the price. It leaks really easily, the cap doesn't screw on easily to the bottle in a way where it doesn't leak. It cross threads so easy but you can't tell until you flip it upside down and it starts running all over the place. It's devastating when that's your hard-earned and pumped breast milk. The clip doesn't hold securely to your clothes and falls off easily if pulled by the baby. The only thing I liked is how the syringe attaches to the feeding tube for ease of clean.
