Is the steel plate received bent? Will it be ugly?

Not at all, the steel plates are very flat and clean. Each piece is wrapped individually and nicely packed together to protect during shipping.

is this annealed or not?

The 1095 high carbon steel works up good similar to the US rolled 1095. I have made three knives so far and enjoy working with it. It is thinner than the 1/8” inch I worked with before. Mine is not annealed. The steel is workable
