Great story about resilience. Christine was a young woman who desired to work for her father’s company only to be kidnapped twice, tortured, and abused mentally. Then along comes her ex who has previous military training to bring some balance to her life.

However, there was too much fluff.The suspense was off the chart, which was the main reason I continued to read.

loved it !!! a great start for a new series !!! love Jake !!!! and his team... love Christine... this is their story... a fast paced action packed drama... I put this one down many times. It was ok..it won’t be one I hold onto. There was something about Christine I couldn’t get into. At the beginning she was depressed and struggling, which seemed believable and I actually liked that about her. Then, all of a sudden, she was a strong willed and annoying female. She used Jake for his body and made sure she repeatedly told anyone who listened that he didn’t matter to her. She literally could not hold a thought about his friends that didn’t consist of how hot or sexy each one was. We get it. If Christine had the chance to cheat on Jake she would, with his friends. And 2 of his friends were just 1 encounter short of stealing her from their alleged friend. What was up with all of the inappropriate thoughts and comments? That just isn’t a real thing amongst people who love each other. It kept ruining the book for me. I am not sure if I want to read more books because I don’t want to read about a bunch of best friends being inappropriate with their buddies girls. Its gross

This storyline captured my attention and kept me motivated to finish the book. The mystery of who was behind the kidnapping and threatening deliveries was compelling.The relationship between Jake and Christine was intense. Their traumatic pasts were something that bonded them in their determination to overcome the trauma.The writing style is more narrative than active which isn’t my favorite, but the storyline was strong and kept me interested. Jake’s brothers in arms, the remaining Sexy Seven Heroes are definitely sexy and each interesting characters that I will be interested in reading their stories.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loved this story. Christine was recovering after being kidnapped and then escaping. When the threat returns, they hire Jake at protect her. Jake and his team, the sexy seven, arrive and put a plan in place to reveal who’s behind it all. Great characters and great story line. I liked the premise of this book and Jake seemed like a great MC and Christine seemed like she would be a good one. However I couldnt get passed her mums emotional abuse and personality and I cannot imagine anyone being so evil like her. The fact her daughter put up with it by giving her "death stares" and accepting everything she did and said that ruined it for me and she should have been the bad guy, not the kidnappers.
