Fun game play and super easy to catch on to
We are a table top game household. We used to have family game nights on Sunday's but unfortunately as my kids grew up it happened less and less. These days its my husband and I and we want games that are competitive and engaging for two people. This is surprisingly difficult to find. Yes, most games can be played with two people but is it fun? Not always. Have you tried Munchkin with two people? No bueno! I read reviews on Azul and seemed like a fit for two people, challenging, fun, competitive, all the things. Azul did not disappoint. The tiles are beautiful, the game is certainly easy to understand and you can skim the instructions and jump right into game play. We will play a few games back to back and every time it is interesting and we really enjoy it. I think this game is perfect for a ages 8-10 and up. I say 8 if your child easily follows directions and concepts. Really its fun for all, but for my husband and I it's perfect. Gameplay is pretty quick and playing a few games back to back keeps us engaged. Wonderful purchase, no regrets!

Azul: A Beautiful Blend of Strategy and Fun
Azul is an amazing board game that combines strategy and beauty! The game's components are gorgeous, with colorful and tactile tiles that make each game visually appealing. Gameplay is easy to learn but offers enough depth to keep you engaged, making it perfect for both casual and serious board gamers. The game offers a unique blend of pattern-building and resource management. Players collect tiles from factories and strategically place them on their boards to score points. Itโs a game that rewards careful planning and adaptability, as you must balance your own goals with blocking your opponents. This particular item is a bigger box, but the publisher also makes a travel version that is way more portable and easier to take along for travel, which is really cool. Each game of Azul offers a fresh challenge, making it a must-have for any board game collection!

Easy to learn with good strategy elements, 2-4 players!
Within the past year I got into board games and over this year I have acquired a decent collection and have played a variety of games in terms of themes and difficulty. I'm pretty hooked! When Azul won the Spiel des Jahres in 2018 I "had" to buy it. I wanted to get in on a hot new game to understand why it's well revered. Since buying it I've played about 12 games, mostly 2 players, but a few 4 player games and it's a blast. The game revolves around picking up tiles and placing them to score points, that is the most simplistic explanation. The game start off slowly without much tension, but as your board fills up the game becomes pretty cutthroat as you try to force your opponent to take tiles that will cause them to lose points while mitigating the point loss on your own board. It requires thinking ahead and critical thinking. It's a fantastic board game that takes 1 round to teach, and many rounds to develop a strategy. There are Youtube videos to learn the game easily, don't be hesitant if you're looking for pretty game that is suitable for the family that will help keep your brain sharp. Azul is well worth the price. My only issue with Azul is that there are some beautiful tile designs on the board game cover that are not available in the game. The plain red and blue tiles would benefit from having some beautiful designs like the cover indicates. Otherwise, I have no caveats with this game. The components are nice to hold and look at, and the game is fun to play.

My Favorite Family GameโBeautiful, Fun, and Strategic
Azul is hands down my favorite board game. The tile-placement gameplay is easy to learn but offers plenty of strategy, making it fun for both casual players and serious gamers. Every round feels engaging, and thereโs always a balance between planning your own moves and watching what others are doing. The mosaic tiles are gorgeous, with a satisfying weight and beautiful colors that make the game a joy to play and display. Itโs perfect for family game nightsโcompetitive without being overwhelming, and enjoyable for a wide range of ages. Award-winning for a reasonโthis game never gets old. Highly recommend! ๐ฒโจ

Creative, Strategic, and Quick Rounds!
The perfect game to gift to your family or friends who are fellow board game lovers! My entire family is huge "gamers" so we are always introducing each other to new board games. It has become kind of a competitive venture on its own of who can find the next best board game. Azul is one of those games that all of your friends play at your house and then ask, "Hey, what was that tile game we played at your house? We want to buy it too!" I love that it's very easy to pick up on, but also, the more rounds you play, the more strategic you learn to be each round. There are so many different ways that you can win based on various strategies, which makes it so fun for people who want to play with their own game style. Don't get me wrong, it takes some strategic thinking and planning, but it's that type of challenge that brings on the fun and the pressure to win! This game is full of opportunities to sabotage, play with patterns, rack up points creatively, and play quick rounds! If you are anything like my family, sometimes it's more fun to play a bunch of quick rounds and then move on to other games throughout the night. You won't regret this addition to your board game collection!

A simple game that is relatively fast to play yet has different outcomes each time you play
Love the Azul game. Simple to learn. It can be quite a strategy game at higher levels. Highly recommend for those without the zest for super-involved games. I'd played before, but purchased for a family member suffering from a stroke. The tactile element, interactive play and relatively simple, yet stimulating element should be perfect for their rehab.

Nice different game for a family, albeit a bit complicated instructions.
Instructions are a bit complicated but it is a nice game that requires planing and strategy. Still you can play with children. The game is beautiful with the tiles.

Plan, Steal, Repeat
Azul โ Plan, Steal, Repeat I own three copies of this game at home, and all of them get used. Iโve hosted mini-tournaments with friends, and I play it online all the time. I also compete in the World Series of Boardgaming in Las Vegas every year, and Azul is always one of my four category picks. Itโs that consistent. It looks peaceful, but itโs not. The tiles are beautiful, the rules are simple, and the game is quietly competitive. Youโll think youโre just arranging patterns until someone takes the exact tiles you needed. Setup is fast, and most games finish in under twenty minutes. Easy to learn, quick to play, and always engaging. It works with family, friends, or anyone whoโs new to board games. The components are excellent โ thick resin tiles, clear boards, and a layout that looks good no matter where you set it up. I played the Giant Title Version at Dice Tower West and it is so fun!

Brilliant family game
Wonderful game for the whole family. It's deceptively simple; very easy to start playing but after a few rounds you realise how important tactics are to succeed, or hinder your opponents. It's such a beautiful and calming game to enjoy.

A great game for couples and groups.
The strategy is pretty simple but this makes it very competitive as your all attempting the same scoring combos while blocking your opponents. Tiles and board and beautifully made and itโs enjoyable to both hold and play.
