Bargain
Got this in sale at about £100, which was a steal. Surprisingly well made and sturdy. Works well and not let me down so far!

Will get the job done
I bought the 2 tonne version to get more reach, used it to lift a 3rd of a tonne lathe on its stand in my workshop, could of hired one I suppose but it will be useful for moving other machines, I tried it on my bandsaw first as it had a lifting hook on the top, worked no problem, think thats around 1/2 tonne. The good things are the way it packs away, easy to use and value for money. Things that could be better are the casters, a bit stiff to turn under load but my concrete floor isn't that smooth so that wouldn't help. Info states 6 swivel castors not on mine 4 swivel and 2 smaller fixed which are off the ground during use but when folded up come in to play, thing is they are splayed out causing drag, should have been swivelling.with the castors under the box section at the front its 200mm up which just worked out for me but I had to remove a lathe panel, I expect this would't be a problem if you bought it to lift an engine. The build instructions are hopeless, think mine was for a different model but I got there in the end so don't trust them. the finish isgood, the box seems a little thin in some areas, I wouldn't like to overload it. Over all it works well enough and is good value for the money. very happy with it.

would recommend this good quality.
Not used to lift anything ....yet.Chinese made and distributed from UK.Instructions are very poor and miniature - so will need magnification to read.DONT rush into assembly as you'll make a mistake as as lot of bolts very similar in size.takes a bout 1.5 hours on your own and can be done by one person. with simple tools.also handy to have the purchase page on amazon openas the castors can be an easy mistake to make as are the short castor bolts (obvious when you look at it) - but if you rush you'll use the wrong castors in the wrong place or wrong length bolts.....so my advice is take your time.only small mechanical competence required to assemble.good solid product and has 8t jacking force. Well coated and everything required arrived okand delivery was super quick - thanks to seller DHL delivery.overall quality is very good solid piece and well made castors for carrying weight.

Well constructed hoist
The structural work on the hoist is of decent quality. It is let down slightly by poor assembly instructions, due to the small scale exploded view and the referencing system on the view which is not particularly well thought out. Also some lock washers would have been a good addition together with a tube of grease to lubricate the races. However, if you are of an engineering frame of mind it is simple enough to erect. If you are not particularly aquainted with engineering drawings and practices you might want to phone a friend. All in all, it is a pretty good piece of kit and good value for money.

An affordable way to singlehanded mount a 40kg roof tent. With an extra 'mod', this works well.
Well, needed a way to lift a 40kg roof tent on & off a Jeep Wrangler single handedly safely, that also didn't break the bank and this was 90% there. Brought the 2 ton extra weight model, as it adds to the safe usefulness, margin (At very little extra cost. Just added an extension box section to the arm & it works well! A bonus, it may even get used as an engine lift, one day... But as far as needed, this was the most cost effective route. It is also surprisingly well made for the money. Better still is that it is easily folded into a compact, small footprint for storage.

The instructions are RIDICULOUS!!! Read before buying.
I am a woman and I have been unable to put my own rooftent on top of my car, without having to depend on the good grace of my neighbours. I absolutely hate not being able to do something and depending on others. So I did a bit of research and chose to buy this hoist (the extendable arm to suit a roof tent is bought separately). The instructions said n the manual are laughable. There are basically NONE. It’s impossible to see and read the diagram. It’s so bad that it forced me to have to remove 2 starts (at least)))!!!But searching online for an assembly video I did come across a very rough guide - which helped me decipher the ridiculous instruction. There is basically no instructions. Don’t expect to receive this and be able to follow assembly instructions. After hours of working it out I was able to assemble and use it. It did a good job after the utter frustration of not being able to assemble it easily passed. Trust me when I tell you the instructions can be considered non existent, especially for someone like me with absolutely no previous experience with hoists.I bought the 2 ton one, but to lift my tent as high as I needed it for the car I had to go to the 1/2 ton option on the hoist. It worked fine.

Well made and sturdy
As others have pointed out- don’t rely on the very basic instructions, take it all out of the boxes and ensure you use the correct bolts - the guide shows where these go. Seems to be well built and sturdy, already lifted two very heavy millstones out of a trailer.

2 ton engine lift
Very well made got to build it yet had to wait 2 parsel one day and 1 2 days later the delivery drive left it out side I sed bring it in the house he was not happy at all I got 100 more deliveries to do you no he did do in the end … all built now lifted a heavy engine and the legs bent where the pins go very thin I think it’s because the middle wheels don’t touch the ground
