Awesome subwoofers
I got the Klipsch R-100 2 pk. Subwoofers yesterday. I was blown away at the power they have. My old subs were set at 1 o'clock sub volume and full crossover with the receiver sub volume at 5+ not no more. These new subs are so energy efficient I had to turn down the receiver sub volume because the house was shaking. Now my sub settings are 12 o'clock sub volume and full crossover with the receiver sub volume at -4 I was afraid at first to buy a 2 Pk name brand sub set at such a low price but since all of my other speakers are Klipsch I decided to do it. Man I'm glad I did they are awesome.

Tight booming bass at a reasonable cost.

Full-Rounded Bass
This is a really good 10" subwoofer and paired well with Onkyo-based home theater system. A little finicky to get tuned in correctly as they tend to be a little "boomy." I did note a definite drop off just below 30hz which surprised me. Overall, good "boom" for the buck!

Excellent Subwoofers
These subwoofers do the job. I used to have the 12 inch version and they would rattle the house. They can also but they are a little smaller and take up less space in the living room. I am very happy with these they are more than enough for a 5.2 or 7.2 surround sound system.

Price and performance fit what I was looking for.
To quote one of my favorite Americans of all time, the evil lord Darth Vader - “Impressive. Most impressive.” Listen, I know there are audiophiles and audiophile-class subwoofers out there. The thing is cost - those cost significantly more money and I know my comfort zone. For the price, these subs are great and have completely satisfied what I was looking for. Are they the most powerful subs in the world? Don't think so. Are they the loudest thing ever made? Don't think so. Are they the most elegant pieces of furniture made of the highest quality materials either? Beats me. However — do they make it sound like frickin’ Transformers are transforming in my living room without costing me a fortune? YES.

Great Value from a legacy speaker mfr.
I've had my Klipsch floor standing speakers since 1994. Still pumping clean, loud music, never had a problem. But, hey. Who doesn't like a little more bass?! I ordered the 2 pack of R-100 SW's and gave one to my son. We both love them. Not muddy. Not boomy. The built in amp is more than sufficient for our application. (Medium sized room.) For a larger room I would be thinking about a larger diameter driver (12", 14"), which would also pump more watts. Music and Television really came to life. A powered sub, such as this, takes the low frequencies away from the tower speakers, freeing them up to really sing the mids and higher ranges. My kid has this sub paired up with Klipsch R51- PM powered bookshelf speakers for an affordable, clean looking, and compact bedroom system. Synopsis: We both love this Sub. Would buy again.
