Case Files Emergency Medicine, Fifth Edition

I got this book to prepare for my EM rotation in PA school and have found it to be invaluable. I didn't have much inpatient experience before PA school and struggled to approach clinical scenarios in the ED with the "what's gunna kill them" mindset. This book helped me sharpen my clinical reasoning skills and gives great reviews on each topic for the case studies, along with some quality practice questions. Will be using this as a reference for the rest of my rotation and as a clinician in the future.

This book is great for any ED healthcare professional that is looking to practice their critical thinking and hone their clinical skills. It has tons of case studies and then questions with answers and rationales to help you understand why your answers are correct or incorrect. I'm a new grad ED nurse and I bought this to help improve my learning process as I'm beginning to build my experience in the field. I think as a nurse in general, but especially in the ED, you have to be willing to be constantly learning new/different things in order to feel more confident in yourself. This book seems like it has a lot of stuff in it to help with that, so I'm glad that I decided to buy it.
