Works exactly as advertised
Worked exactly as advertised. Prying is perfect, and actually works better than even my flatbar. As for the nail holder that was awesome. Kept the 15 year old shingles intact. Only replaced 1/2 the roof

Excellent utility, a little unwieldy
Great little tool. Nice and sturdy with a nice finish to it. I’ve used it several times already, and it’s been super handy. If I were to offer a critical opinion about it, it has two awkward things about it. First is that it doesn’t quite fit into a belt pouch which makes porting it up a ladder a little annoying. Second is that the way to pound the roofing nail in after it has been started with the notch takes some precision to line everything up. The starter notch is awesome but it is only able to get the nail in so far, and the size and shape of it doesn’t seem well suited to finish because you have to go from the notch to the outside surface. I still like it and life is better with it.

Excellent tool for quick and clean shingle repairs
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I used this Roof Snake tool for a recent shingle repair project and it worked perfectly. The steel construction feels strong and durable, and it held up well during multiple uses. The nail slot design makes it easy to slip under existing shingles and drive nails without causing damage. It also does a great job removing nails cleanly, which saved me time and effort. The size is compact but gives you good leverage for the job. If you do any roofing work, whether professional or DIY, this is a tool worth having in your toolbox.

Works for replacing random damaged shingles.
Used to help replace several damaged shingles and roofing nail pops. Works sufficiently well to get the job done. I think it could be improved if the "toe" end which holds the nail were about two inched longer, which would probably necessitate some type of buttress reinforcement since you would be changing the hammering leverage distance. When the nailing area is farther up on the underlying shingle, it is a little tricky to hold the tool with the nail in the end, flex a used shingle up over the tool and hammer on the raised boss with only two hands. The boss you hammer on sometimes is under the overlapping shingle. Overall glad I purchased, did make a challenging repair doable.

Huge Help When Replacing Shingles!
This tool is a huge help when replacing shingles. It allows you to reach under the shingle on top to nail the one below without damaging the one on top. The tool is well made, and seems very durable. It holds a roofing nail securely, even though it doesn't have a magnet. It is on the heavy side (23 oz, 632g), but that is due to it's solid construction. The finish also seems very durable. I used it all day, hammering on the end opposite the nail puller, and the finish is intact. * Overall length of tool: 11 inches * Cross section of tool: 1 inch x 1/4 inch

Awesome
Definitely worth the money ❗️❗️❗️I bought one of the cheaper ones that broke the second time.. I used the heck out of this one day it works perfectly. One of my Hispanic helpers has had one for two years.

Impressive
I tried it today and Im glad I bought it. Some old and fragile shingles are a pain to lift and break with my fingers. I'm currently at a job and this tool does it all. It prys, it hammers, and of course the nailing with the slot. fits in bag and it's got a good weight to it. Not sure why the other UPGRADED one has poor reviews but this one comes in handy.

Awesome
Just used the roof snake when replacing five 3-tab shingles. While I didn't use the claw since I had a tool for that I did use the nailing end for all of my nails under shingles, worked very good. It did stick to the seal strip on occasion but overall this made the final nailing so much easier on my older roof. Managed to remove and replace the shingles without any other damage. Worth the money if you think you'll use it enough.

Highly recommended! Just get it!
If you have any doubt that you might need one of these, just get it! It's a bit pricey, but you won't be sorry. It makes it so easy to replace shingles when having to nail under existing overlapping shingles. No more hitting your fingers with the hammer, or breaking the overlapping shingle from trying to bend it up enough to get the hammer in. Just get it!

saved the day on a botched job
As a homeowner, I don’t wish to go up on the roof to do shingle repairs but when I do have to, this tool is a must have. I had to do some shingle repairs recently in 3 degree Celsius because the roofer I hired botched the job. You need it if you do roof repairs, I don’t think there’s any other tool that does this. It’s a specialty tool and this particular one by PacTool is very durable and well made. The shingle repair job would definitely be harder to complete without this tool especially in the cold and the shingles do not bend as easily anymore so that the hammer can get under them.

It works with a proviso
It works as advertised if you are using the skinny, shiny nails that come in tapes or belts for power nailers. But the galvanized roofing nails that you get loose, or in small packages for use with a hammer on small jobs or repairs, are too thick for the little slot. You can still get some use out of the dogleg shape of the tool for hammering a nail, but you have to position each nail with your fingers for the first few bashes, until the nail is set enough. Then you can move your fingers to safety and hammer away. You'll miss having three hands. The pry-bar end with the notch works as expected, Also, that green paint is all very nice, but... y'know... it doesn't survive repeated blows by a hammer, not even a smooth-faced one like I was using. I don't know of any coating that would, so it's not a real issue.
