AminAvast 300mg Kidney Support for Cats & Small Dogs, 60 Sprinkle Capsules

I started using this for my small dog as kidney support, and so far I’m happy with it. It’s not a miracle overnight product, but with consistent use I’ve noticed better energy and more stable appetite. My dog tolerates it well and has no side effects. I like that it’s easy to give and specifically formulated for kidney health. If you’re looking for long-term support (not a quick fix), this is a good option. I would recommend using it consistently and being patient to see results.

My 9 year old cat has early signs of chronic kidney disease. Her blood levels are high normal and her urine is not concentrated. Her coat was not looking good and she had little appetite. She started the Hill's KD dry food and this supplement at the same time. She has taken the supplement for two weeks and her appetite improved (She gained a pound.), her coat looks better, and her energy level has increased. She is more playful and social again.

I've had my cat on this for a few years now having been concerned with CKD. Her recent blood work at 16 years of age showed that her kidneys were in perfect health. Highly recommend. I mix it with spoonfuls rabbit, turkey, beef treat and she eats it, no problem. I've tasted it myself being concerned that amino acids can be quite bitter and this stuff has a light chicken flavor with zero bitterness.

Purchased AminAvast after researching kidney support for my 19 yr old cat. She was urinating frequently and at greater volume than normal, resulting in large and infrequent bowel movements due to most of her fluid intake being diverted to her kidneys. We had tried two other renal remedies with limited success as she would not eat her food when added. With the contents of one AminoVast capsule mixed in wet food with a few drops of water to dissolve the powder she will eat without hesitation. Have been using for about a month, giving one capsule daily, for 7-8 lb cat. Within 2 weeks, noticed her bowel movements more normal and frequent, and her urination decreased. She seems to feel better overall and her appetite is better. A bit pricey, but it's helping and will continue to use.

Update on 12/4/18 I started giving this to my cat back in October 27. While there were no instant visible improvements, the improvements to her health, vitality and energy were gradual. After the first week, I noticed that her appetite increased and she would eat her full serving of food. Her water intake is at a good ratio with her eating (she eats dry cat food that's formulated for renal health). Her SDMA levels did not increase and remained stable. BUN numbers are well within the normal range as well. This supplement combined with a veterinarian-prescribed renal cat food is helping keep my kitty healthy and stable. My cat’s blood works showed her SDMA level to be on the high side and her urine was dilute along with symptoms of frequent urination and thirst. So I started to give my cat these supplements before her follow up appointment to see what stage kidney disease she’s at. So far, her appetite is normal and she hasn’t been peeing so much (before I gave her these supplements, she would pee so much I had to clean the litter box so many times a day). She has been active and social again. I give this to her along with cosequin for her joints. I will update my review after her next lab works.

This supplement is for cats with kidney disease. You have to give it every day twice a day in wet food. I wish it came loose powder in a tub with a scoop . Instead you have to untwist capsules and pour out the powder- which sometimes is hard to do. However my cat’s blood work has improved since he’s been on this supplement so he does not have to get fluids weekly. The veterinarian recommends this and it really seems to help. My cat is 18 years old .

It's not palatable, our cat wouldn't eat his favourite food if it's mixed in it.

My cat has kidney issues and this amino acid supplement somehow piques his interest in eating, even though it doesn't seem to be flavoured in any way. My cat is on a variety of powders and drops but when I ran out of this supplement he did seem to go downhill a bit in the time that he didn't have it. His appetite was not as good and he didn't seem as active when he wasn't taking it. It is pricey, but I have started to give my 7.5 pound cat half of the contents of a capsule in the morning and half in the evening and that seems to be a good dose for him, even if it is half the recommended amount. If your cat is quite thin, it may be a good dose for him/her as well.

J'ai acheté ce produit pour mon chat qui souffre d'insuffisance rénale grade 3. Comme le chat requiert des acides aminés dans son alimentation, ce produit répond à ce besoin. Les résultats sont à venir... Une chose est certaine, ce produit lui fera plus de bien que de mal, en étant consciente que cette maladie finira par l'emporter.

It's only been a few days so dont know if it's helping or not but my cat doesnt mind the taste. It's easy-to-use. But the price is wow. My cat weighs 26lbs so I'm supposed to give him 4 pills a day. If I did that it would be over $200 a month!! I cant afford that at all so I am trying 1pill a day. I Love my cat so much but I just don't have that. I gave up food for myself just to get them.
