The track the wire goes in is aluminum. The wire itself is pvc coated steel I believe. The size is as described and it works as described and and very good quality. Works great for us. Would highly recommend.

Can i buy extra wire separately?

Can the tracks be attached to a metal fence kennel?

with a a bit of creativity and the right tools, yes. self drilling metal screws (from home depot) will easily drill through the track and light gauge metal. you'll need to clamp the two pieces together first - pros use a vise grip type clamp - also available at home depot.
