Can this screen be used without being fully extended? We have a sloping ceiling and there is only be about 900cm of space.

I have just measured the frame that fixes to the wall, and it is 142cm. Thats from side of bath to top of frame.Hope this helps

Do these pivot outwards for easy cleaning of the bath, without actually standing in the bath to clean it?

Yes but as a precaution I wouldn't try to create a 90 degree angle with the long edge of the bathtub. So to clean areas close to where the sliding bath screen is attached to the wall, I would climb into the bathtub.
