The best option I found for spruce floor boards to preserve the original appearance
Despite the associated price tag, this product delivered exactly what my research online claimed. So the colour or finish is described as “raw” and it is probably as close to that, wi try out darkening the wood, but still giving a smooth silky finish, without just leaving the wood bare. I used a cloth to apply it, it does say 24 hours drying time before applying a second coat quickly, so so far I have the first coat on. I tried a roller and a brush before settling on the cloth as to apply thinly the first two applicators just gave me too much of a varied result, with the cloth it wa easy then to wipe off the excess product to give what I feel is a perfect coverage. The tin says it (750ml) will do 30 metres squared. I have done a 12 metre squared area of spruce floor boards and used maybe 2/5 of the tin so I am confident the cloth application method has enabled me to achieve the optimum application rate. So coverage estimation was pretty accurate. The smell of the product is pretty congenial as well… it sort of combines with the freshly sanded wood smell So overall ease of application and product quality were great. It would have been better though if I had been able to obtain a sample sachet as fast as I could obtain a large tin as this is a very expensive product and I would have liked to have been able to test it first. Having used the clear satin before which does affect the colour as per again, internet research which backs up my personal findings, if you want to keep the natural colour, this does it. The photos show it going on in the guest photo, and the finished look in the second photo. The third photo compares it to a polyurethane varnish in satin finish showing how much darker the wood could go if I did not get it right. The wood is spruce. The finish when dry is Matt and does not look wet.

Good quality treatment oil
Good quality oil as you would expect from OSMO. Apply VERY thinly though as otherwise it will leave a slight whiteish residue. We used to treat an Oak Banister and it has done the job well. It is 'RAW' so results in hardly any colour change which is what we wanted. Just need to be careful on the application especially if there is any run off as pooling oil will dry white. Very easy to apply.

Very good so far
This is plainly a good product. I stained a natural oak mantelpiece and the result seems excellent. It is entirely matt and practically invisible. I have yet to test the resistance to staining. It is hard to believe it will be as resistant as a tough gloss. But it was just what was needed to preserve the natural wood. I wish there had been smaller tins though as I only needed a little.

I highly rate Osmo coatings they really work wonders
I highly recommend Osmo products especially ones for wooden kitchen worktops you can carry out a repair on a section and only have to recoat area worked on without recoating whole work top I did that on a oak work top and was amazed at the finish. once you have given a worktop three coats it will last for ages just recoat once a year or every two year depending on use! to ensure a great finish. I highly rate their satin finish what a lovely sheen.

amazing product. does what it says - needs careful application
as advised by osmo, used this as a base coat on pine parquet, with one coat of clear matt osmo polyx hard wax oil on top. also as advised by osmo, used a 50 mm osmo brush to apply it – (like a paintbrush), almost exactly the same width as each parquet block. This is because to avoid build up of the white pigment that does all the work to keep the wood looking raw, you have to apply it with the grain and not against it; and as parquet changes direction, that means you have to apply it block by block. This careful application paid off; the floor is beautiful, and definitely less red or wet looking than it would have been otherwise. (We tested two coats of clear matt against one of raw and one of clear, and chose the latter. Also it's eco. Also it's water resistant, etc. Also you can do patch repairs. Also vanilla flooring are excellent to deal with.

So easy! Doesn't smell bad! Loads left over! Has protected new table from Ribena hell! Woohoo!
I have never stained a table before, nor actually owned a real wood dining table. So was naturally quite anxious about applying this stuff to my brand new table. I actually loved the 'raw' wood look of my table and was worried about staining it a darker colour, or adding a shine I didn't want. I needn't have worried. This stuff was excellent. I read that some used a paintbrush and others a cloth. I ended up just rubbing it in with a cloth. The stuff spreads amazingly far and you needed very, very little. I just rubbed it in, you can see the in progress pictures, it didn't look 'white', as some reviewers had a problem with, as I used small amounts on my cloth and rubbed it in thoroughly as I went. It didn't take too much elbow grease, the smell wasn't too unpleasant and overall the task ended up being far less bothersome than I thought it would be - doesn't happen that way so often! Ended up with about half a tin remaining, after applying two coats to my table and sideboard. (I left 24 hours between coats as it says on the tin). Please note, I read one seller saying you needed to buy Osmo clear to put on top. You DO NOT need to do this, it states this nowhere in the instructions on the tin - don't make the same mistake I did, I bought both tins on this recommendation. Once I had read the back of the 'raw' tin, I realised I didn't need a coat of Matt on the top, and promptly sent back to the seller - at my own expense :(

Works a treat
I found this product to be brilliant. Many reviews on here stating product leaves a chalky finish… yes it does. It states that themselves. The trick is only applying a small amount. For example I coated about a 8msq herringbone floor twice and I don’t think I used even a quarter. I have recently just used it on an unfinished Oak veneer door and probably only just got to a quarter down. Simply do as it states on the tin. If your unsure whether yore applying anything (as it can seem quite thin) simply feel the brush your self and you will know. I would however avoid this if you have dark coloured floors as I imagine it would only leave a white mist over the entire floor.

Perfect for maintaining the light colour and sheen of oak doors
I followed the Osmo recommendations for solid oak doors which was to give a thin coat of this "raw" oil followed by a top coat of Osmo 3062 Polyx Hard Wax Oil Clear Matt . I tested a spare piece of oak first with the two products and also an area with just the Osmo 3062 Polyx Hard Wax Oil Clear Matt. With just the 3062 the wood darkened a little but using the raw oil first left the oak as light as if untreated, but definitely a "smoother finish than if untreated. Hard to describe really, but first class. The first coat must be applied really thinly, just as thin as you can make it and still wet the surface. It is a milky coloured liquid and I kept on brushing it until any milkiness disappeared. If you leave any areas looking milky it will dry white! After 24 hours I applied the top coat. With the 0.75 litre tin I was able to do both sides of 6 doors and still have some left over. I bought the 2.5 Litre tin of the 3062 top coat and so have loads left - we have an oak staircase that hasn't been treated so that is next! I thought the osmo brushes looked expensive and tried with an old B&Q brush which worked perfectly. I think it was bristle rather than synthetic, but suggest you try out a brush before committing yourself. I didn't loose a single bristle. Brush was cleaned in white spirits and then soapy water each time.

Awesome finish
The finishing is fantastic. Will buy again. Be aware of a few things: 1. It has very intense paint smell that lasts a few weeks. First week is quite strong. 2. Wear appropriate PPE as skin contact with hardwax oil will lead to allergy reactions for most people. The finished surface will not.
