Seamless integration with the iMac
I love that the design of this unit means that it blends seamlessly with the design of the iMac. The ports are accessible, without being especially noticeable. I bought a second one for my work computer too.

Questionable connection cables supplied
Hub initially didn't function either on USB or for the SSD in the enclosure. Reported the defect and received a new one the very next day, it also failed. Ordered new thunderbolt cables and used them instead of the OEM cable supplied, and it worked fine. This was on a new M3 iMac. Seems to be functioning now, recommend using alternate cable than the one supplied if you're having problems with this unit.

Poor connection.
Connection gets lost very frequently. Sometimes it won't connect at all.

Maybe not quite up to expectations
UPDATE: A few weeks later. The 3 USBI ports on the right side quit working. Today, when trying to do a backup, they systematically failed "loosing" the drives which were attached -- mid backup. And I discovered this afternoon that the mini sd car reader also does not work. Only the regular sd card reader and the three USB-c ports on the back work. I'd return it but (1) I bought a 1 tb Samsung card and installed it in the Inateck base, so now would loose both the base and the card investment., & (2) probably out of Amazon's return period. What a waste of money! ORIGINAL REVIEW: So, really wanted to like this product -- My iMac 24 sits on top of it, and the dimensions are technically correct, BUT whenever I want to move my iMac I have to hold both the iMac base and this Inateck base. Nothing really holds them together. Inateck shows a peel off a stick solution, but it simply doesn't work. Love the additional usb ports and the additional "internal storage" option which I bought separately. BUT the fact that it is so easy to slide the iMac 24 base off of this Inateck base is a real problem. The fix would be to put double sided tape on the Inateck base and then set the iMac 24 on top of it, but that seems to defeat the whole idea because if you ever wanted to separate them, it would result in a sticky mess. Too bad these guys didn't think this through a bit more.

Unreliable Storage Connection
I purchased this docking station to use the drive functionality with time machine on a new iMac M3. The dock will not keep the connection to its own internal drive active, probably due to not enough power going to the dock and thus, the drive it contains. Similar to other reviewers, I can get the drive to show up if I unplug the dock and plug it back into the iMac, but that defeats the purpose of having an extra drive available. It is also unreliable when backing up or using he internal drive in any way that puts load on the drive. The dock with just disconnect the drive randomly. I have used more than 1 drive to test teh dock and am currently using a drive that is considered compatible with the dock and have tested my drive in other enclosures, so that is not the issue. I am thinking about returning this for a more reliable option. It is definitely not worth the $90 they are asking as it lacks half the functionality Inatek promises and is not reliable.
