A beautifully engineered metal pen that feels great to write with. I opted for medium nib and am not disappointed. The finish and craftsmanship are excellent and the pen does exactly what is says on the tin! A premium price for the pen that definitely says 'luxury', however, that said, a pen that will last several lifetimes if taken care of.

I decided to amend my review as after using it for a while I think I was a bit overcritical of it.Lookswise it's nice but there's just something I can't quite put my finger on which makes it look a bit cheap to me. Screwing/unscrewing the cap doesn't feel great, the thread feels a bit rough and it can squeak a bit, I've had far better experiences with £5 fountain pens.It's a cartridge/converter and the converter was very stiff but worked fine. The nib looks fantastic.Now the most important bit, the actual writing! I went for a medium nib and although slightly broader than I expected it's a really nice writer. There's a little bit of line variation and just the right combination of smooth/feedback, the section is comfortable and not slippy at all, it's great for long writing sessions, we'll balanced and weighty without being overly heavy.I got mine from Amazon Warehouse with about 40% off the normal price (pen perfect condition, box a bit ripped) and I'm happy with it but don't think I would pay the full price, there are better alternatives out there for that price.

Bought the Parker Duofold Centennial Big Red at a good price, direct from Amazon.Next day delivery….fast.First issue….The outer white protective cardboard box had tears in the flap, indicating it had previously been opened without due care.Second issue…The pen was not in place under its elasticated securing, it was just loose in the gift box.Third issue….The ink converter was wet with water on the outside and still contained some water.The nib was also wet.This lead me to believe that the ie had been sold, tried and then washed clean before being returned to Amazon.Not what I expect, especially on a fairly expensive item.Pen has been returned and I am awaiting my refund .

This pen is exquisite, oozes quality, the broad nib is soo smooth and a pleasure to write with.

I hope that I received a counterfeit product, but all the markings seems to indicate that it is the genuine article down to the 17170588 number on the nib assembly. This is a writing instrument that produces an uneven line, that is either to wet or starved of Ink. I contacted the customer service department about this. The Parker brand is owned by the Newell Company, (google it). The company's customer service department is apparently, a generic customer deflection mechanism. Staffed by personnel who's chief objective is to, in a very polite manner, offer no help what so ever. I really want to stress how extremely disappointed I am in this product at the price. I own several fountain pen's that perform in the range from excellent ( Parker 88 purchased 1993) to adequately Parker IM purchased (2017). The Parker Duofold Prestige Blue Chevron Centennial pen itself is just right for my hand, it feels really solid and weighs 53 grams (1,7 troy ounces). It would be an absolute joy to use if the line it produces wasn't as abysmal as the one I'm seeing on paper. The ink I have been using is Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink, the pen has a medium nib. I'm not sure if the Parker brand has any real meaning since when trying to find out if there is a solution for my product I'm met with a customer service that seem to either have no knowledge or no desire to offer a sollution.This is a Prestige product and I expect excellence. I am glad that I didn't give this inferior product in gift to someone, that I truly wanted to honor, I would be ashamed to offer this as a gift. I fell for this pen's good looks and I have reasons to regret that. I know that there are replacement nibs for this Pen which of the customer service department offered no suggestions. The line this pen produces turns the Parker Blue-Black ink to a pale blue almost turquoise color, and it is a very wide line at least twice as wide as other medium nibs. I really wanted this Pen to be great but it isn't.

工芸品だ。文化だ。と言いたいくらい、やっぱり普段使いのLamy Safariとかと違う。Safariなどは「ペン」で、ボールペンや水性ペンなどと並ぶ筆記具なのに対して、もう少し高額帯の万年筆は書き味、バランスなどで一歩抜きん出た「万年筆」と別ジャンルだなぁ、と感じる。一昨年末、パーカーのプリミエが終了とのことで思い切って購入して万年筆沼にハマってしまって以来、技術メモはSafariでかなりヘビーに使い、手紙などの手書き文章はプリミエを使いつつ、他の万年筆もちょこちょこ集め、パーカーのフラッグシップのデュオフォールドは気になって気になって気になってしょうがなかったけど、ただ字を書くことしかできない道具1本に定価110,000円って、iPhone買えるじゃん。馬鹿じゃないの？ と、カートに入れては後で買うを押し、一年近く。悩む時間も勿体無いので、ポイントが貯まっていたこともあって、今回、思い切って買いました。このブルー。思ったより渋い暗灰青に金。金色が映える。工芸品っぽくて、手にするだけでただの筆記用具じゃないオーラがたまらない。書き味も、抵抗なくスラスラと書けて抜群。全てがいい感じに調整されているのに、キャップポストした時のトップヘビーのじゃじゃ馬ぶり。絶好調で般若心経百枚も行けるわ！と言いたい気分。寝相で折ってしまう心配がなければ、寝床に持ち込みたいくらい。考えてみれば、時計だってうん100万の買っても、1日の時間は1秒も伸びないんだ。なら万年筆で7,8万なんて安い物。書き、愛で、手入れする。この重さ。存在感。実によい。マジで手書きが楽しくなるんだよ。大体、なんでこの歳で延々と自分の名前を書き続けてんだよ、ってくらいに。でも、バランスやインクフローなど考えると、プリミエのモノクロームエディション(ブラック)の方が好みではある。手持ちから2本だけ選べと言われたら、パーカーのプリミエと、このデュオフォールド。この2本はほんと、買ってよかったと思う。追記:2022/3/31購入から1ヶ月半。手書きのほとんどがこのデュオフォールドになってしまいました。プリミエのぬらぬら感でガシガシ縦書きで日本語を書くのもいいんですが、プログラム関係で横書きの英字を大量に書く時のデュオフォールドのジェントルな書き心地が、もう、たまらん。冷静になってみれば、なんで万年筆一本にこんな金額払うねん？ とか思ってしまうんだけど、思ってしまうんだけど！、これを所有して使う、使わないはこれからの数年、十数年、数十年の積み重ねを考えると、十分その価値はある、と思う。後悔はない。
