Is 5.88 (Deep Red) an auburn color or darker? or is it a wine color?

Because I have dark hair to begin with, it comes out a very dark auburn. I would suppose it depends on your own hair color. If it's a light shade, the 5.88 Deep Red, may come out more red than auburn.

Does this work on black hair?

If you have a coal black hair. You will end up with a more auburn hair color. You will see the beautiful rich highlights of red. My hair was dark brown and I have a definite red color to my hair. Try it, if you don't like it. Then in 6 weeks can try something different. However you may fall in love with the beautiful over tones it gives you.
