Sturdy protection. Works fine on Philips steam generator
Brilliant idea. The cable/steam hose on our Philips steam generator iron was starting to show major signs of fraying of the cloth covering. This item is now protecting the cable and looks like it will last forever. I did have to supply my own cable ties to fit it. One tiny problem - on the Philips there is a rather small compartment to store the cable.hose in, and without the protector it takes some careful folding up to fit it in there. With the protector fitted it is no longer possible to fold it up into 4 sections, so we have to fold it only in half, and poke it into the storage place as best as possible, but some still hangs out. Not a major problem though.

Saves costly repair
Very nice length it came longer than needed but is so easy to trim to your own Length.I was so surprised how easy it was to wrap around the old cable. It just wraps.The only down side is you could do with more ties as you only get one ad it feels lose with only oneSo impressed how much we have saved repairing the iron ourselves.

Cord protector
Perfect for covering steam generator frayed cord ,excellent fit should last a long time, any problems contact original seller, they are so helpful and very efficient definitely use them again

Did the job
Purchased for my mother's steam iron which fabric had started to wear away on steam cord. Has covered the item perfectly. Very pleased with this and would recommend!

Just the job!!
Frayed cords are a real nuisance so this wrap is a life saver without having to replace the cord or get a new iron. There were comments about the supply of only 1 tie. The tie is long enough to secure the entire length of the cord. What you need to do is secure a knot and cut it. Do the next and so on. Hope this helps!

Useless
Product is supposed to shape itself around the worn cord and stay put. Doesn't come with instructions but is easy to wrap around worn cord and secured with supplied tie. Only one (reusable) tie was provided but I used it to secure the sleeve at either end (which was not supposed to be necessary.I used the 14mm sleeve, which is supposed to be the correct size for a steam generator iron but the sleeve came off on first use.Not fit for purpose. Avoid

A bit stiff but it worked
I had a fraying steam-generator cord and looked for something to repair or protect it - very few options around but I found this.AND - it does work. The sleeve is quite stiff though so don't expect the previous levels of flexibility - however - it's been on for a good few weeks now and feels tough enough to go the distance.Overall an easy recommendation compared to a new iron. You do have to ensure that at least one end is very tightly secured.
