24 Hour Digital Immersion Heater Timer LG-DIHT

I bought two of these to control some 400W panel heaters in different rooms. They worked perfectly so I purchased another two and all are working fine. The units are good quality and give you up to 6 on/off times per day which is more than the other digital timers I looked at like the Siemens RWB27 which only has 3 on/off times per day. The units are easy to wire and have an internal backup battery for your settings. A larger display would be nice as the LCD display is very small but once you have set it, there is no need to play with it again.

This is the second one of these that I have purchased, both for towel rail installations.Yes, the LCD display is too small, and is not backlit, but I cannot find one that is.Can program up to 6 on's and 6 off's per day, so is very flexible and I have found the unit to be very reliable.I program several OFF times per day in case someone leaves the towel rail on, works well.Also, you can overide the timer and switch the rail ON or OFF with just one button press.Has battery backup which is useful during power cuts or when you go on holiday and switch the rail off.Good value piece of kit

Excellent product and so easy to setup and use. It really is not a problem not having it back lit, although it would be helpful to have a LED to indicate if it was switched on. I am using this to control external lights and the simple push once on and once off is great especially as it fits straight into the previous light switch back-box.The timing can also control by the day, something missed by all the other reviews (that I have read).I would definitely get another for any timer controlled function. Don't limit it to the immersion!

Don't touch this product, failure rate is shocking, my second one has just packed up after less than one year since installation.It is clearly underated and not suitable for a standard 3 KW immersion heater, the clock still works fine but the switching circuit has failed ( same fault for both units I have installed )Save your money and go for a clock that is fit for purpose.

I bought these to replace the traditional immersion heater switches on the wall. Why? I wanted to guarantee hot water when necessary, without the hassle of having to remember whether the water heaters had been on and for how long. They fitted as a straight-forward replacement, out of the box, without any glitches and have saved us a great deal of headaches. Even though the text on the screen is small, I am glad I bought this timer and would highly recommend this product to others considering a similar replacement. There is a rechargeable battery included so the timer is not prone to power cuts and one can program up to 6 operations daily. The entire unit is very easy to program and override manually.

Installs, sets and operates very well. BUT, before you consider it, make sure there are not too many cables in the box. I had no fewer than eight 2,5 sq.mm ring-main cables and it was quite impossible to push the new timer far enough back to enable it to be properly seated so that the screws could be engaged. Because of the relatively light construction of the device, I did not wish to exert a lot of force. Instead, I made a 10mm thick 86mm square hollow spacer which was perfect. If this is not feasible, it may be better to run a new spur with just the line, neutral and load cables. Maybe there is a ready-made spacer available - I'll have a look myself.

I’ve had 4 of these because they break after about a year each time, but it’s the only one I can use for my particular application. When it works it’s great, and does everything you’d want.

The timer is quite solidly made and fitted perfectly into the standard single socket backplate of my original timer. With one common Neutral, a live IN and live OUT connector block to screw the cables into it was easy to install - the whole process only took a few minutes. The display is quite clear, though the On/Off icons are small and difficult to see, installed low down the wall on our dimly lit landing. Only downside is that it is quite large/bulky. Overall very pleased with it and the service was great - arrived next day!
