What UV star rating does SPF 50 have?

UV star rating is not an internationally reconised standard for sun protection it is a system created by Boots. It is only useful if comparing two lotions of the same SPF as it is a ratio not a specific rating. E.g. P20 SPF 50+ might have a lower star rating than P20 SPF 10. But the SPF 50+ will actually provide better protection than the SPF 10. So you'd have to go to boots and see if they have rated the product. Even if you could work out the ratio from the details on the bottle you'd need to know what constant boots use to relate that to their star rating. The followig from www.nhs.uk explains this further:Sunscreens were originally made to prevent sunburn by blocking UVB, and before 1990 did not contain much to prevent UVA exposure. Since then, UVA filters have become available, but there is no international system of rating UVA protection. In the UK, the "Boots star rating system" is commonly used. This system provides a ratio of UVA to UVB protection, and can only be interpreted in relation to the SPF of the product. At a given SPF, more stars means more UVA protection, but a five-star product with a lower SPF could provide less UVA protection than a three-star product with a higher SPF.

Can I spray this over makeup on my face or will it make my makeup go weird?

Hello, Always apply P20 before and under any make-up, or anything else. Apply it and let is dry before putting anything on over the top. Roughly how many all over applications in a bottle so I can work out how many bottles I'll need please?

The guidance on the bottle says 5 to 6 adult applications per 200ml which differs enormously from the users’ advice on here! I’ve used half a bottle already on a couple of adult applications and kids school for 3/4 days (so only face, arms and legs for two primary kids). Don’t listen to people saying you can get a fortnight out of one bottle - it’s not the guidance for ensuring you don’t burn.
