can i use these with the kaboom toilet cleaning system?

its up to you. much better if you clean your toilet bowl using your kaboom, before you put the tablet inside the water tank.

Is this safe for septic drain fields?

I don't know if it is or not. I do know that the tablets are small and need changing often. They weren't suitable for me. I hope this helps you!!

Does the tablet dissolve after use or does it remain and you need to remove it? Mine has been in for 3 weeks and still there?

These slowly dissolve. I don't remember exactly how long it took for a tablet to fully dissolve but the package says they last 15 days which is roughly 2 weeks. If they last longer for you then it's lasting longer than promised.
