Prismacolor Col-Erase Erasable Colored Pencil, 12-Count, Blue (20044)

I use these Col-erase Prismacolor pencils to mark books I read plus significant words in my Bible. As such they need to be erasable in case I make a mistake. I chose this brand since the lead is fairly soft and is very erasable. It is ideal to mark my Bible which is printed on onion skin thin paper. It does not rip the very thin paper. Another brand I ordered just to try out is a lighter blue and requires a lot of pressure to make a mark. The lead is too hard. The current Col-erase Prismacolor blue 20044 pencils are made in China; they have not completely replicated the formula of the original ones made in the USA. I have one of those, they have softer leads, and are ideal for making lines and shadings in books. This Chinese made version is a dark blue just like the original ones and stand out on the printed page, yet lets one read the black text underneath the shading. In any case, the Chinese copies are the best available at this time. The erasers work well also. Oh yes, you really get a box of 12 good erasable blue pencils.

I do cartooning/webcomics as a hobby and have historically used blue lead with a mechanical pencil for my base drawings. I wanted to try an actual blue pencil to get sketches with more life so I decided to give these pencils a try. I've been very pleased with the results.The lead allows me to play with my lines in a way that mechanical pencils don't while simultaneously being incredibly strong. I haven't had a single lead break yet, even when freshly sharpened.The eraser works well enough. Obviously, if you make a really heavy/dark line, there will be some residual on the paper after erasing. This hasn't been an issue for me since I'm using this for base drawings that I'm inking over anyways.

Love these pencils! I use them to lay down the basics of a drawing before using paint or pen. Lead is nice and strong, doesn’t crumble like some brands do. Takes a sharp point, too. Erases easily and provides a subtle guide that seems to almost disappear when other media are added.

About 2 years ago, I bought a 12 count box of these non-photo blue, erasable pencils. Before, I'd start out each drawing with an HB or harder but found those initial searching lines distracting. This is now my go-to pencil when starting a sketch and I reach for them again and again. I keep one in the travel bag, two by the desk, and the box close by just in case. Still have half the box left.Somehow, the blue gets past that initial fear of the blank page. After all, those initial lines aren't permanent and allow me to see where the graphite needs to vary. No problems erasing although I do use a light touch. Most of the time now I just leave the initial lines and move on with life. The overall effect is quite nice and the eye tends to edit them out.These have become a staple when most of my art supplies ease in and out of favor.

I love to sketch in color so I purchase these and crayons erasable colored pencils. These have much better color, and definitely look nicer on paper. They do smudge, and cannot be fully erased at most times, but I still love them. Do not break easily, and you don’t need to sharpen nearly as often.

It was great, I was looking for pencils like this for a very long time. I work making paintings and drawings and this made my job much easier, mostly for sketches. They're easy to erase but the color is still solid. I'll definitely keep buying this pencils.

I love these pencils. They have the softness of a colorpencil but the ease of erasing of a normal pencil. Ideal combination for an artist. And the price is very good as well. Definitly something one should try out. I use them all the time to sketch the first draft and when I was working in animation I used them for the inbetweens before I cleaned up the drawings.

This is my favorite sketching pencil, and I just bought a box of all the colors. Nuff said. No smudge, sketches lightly, erases pretty well, easily covered up with watercolor. If you have a heavy hand, it might not erase well, so sketch lightly and gradually.

These where recommended to me by a friend, and now they're all I use when sketching and or drawing. I do love this brand and have a wide range of their product, but this one in particular I find great for my line work prior to inking :)

This is a pretty great price for 12 col-erase pencils, and this blue color is great for sketching with. Sometimes I find the non-photo blue can't make a visible mark on certain papers, but this one is dark enough that I can always see it - however you can still draw lightly if you want a subtle line.

I purchased this along with the red set, Ill say it again its fantastic and I am biased to using red and blue pencils in drafting and sketch works. The downside is the eraser and the lack of it actually being helpful. Better off using a purchased eraser by itself.

Very easy to draw with! These pencils work very well for sketching, and they are easy to erase too (as long as you don‘t press too hard.

The only gripe I have with them is the barcode sticker attached to them has very sticky residue, kind of annoying to remove from 8 pencils
